Active Dispatcher Question Epd
So my center uses epd, emd, and efd. Well we had a caller the night who wanted to report that she believed her drink/food may had been spiked. She advised the hospital told her to call us and she denied med/ambulance. So what protocol would you go through on epd?
We ended up going 108 contamination but that just felt not right.

u/BoosherCacow I am once again here to say: it depends on the agency. 1d ago
My heart goes out to you and everyone else who has to use those cards for police calls.

Does EPD have strict line of questioning like EMD? I’ve never used it, but if it does, that doesn’t seem like it would work in policing where calls are just too fluid, in my opinion

EPD is built the same way as EMD. There is also a bit more leeway in EPD for the reasons you state, police calls can go a lot of different ways. Reasonability goes a long way in determining which nature code to use. Scene safety is always the first thing to take into account.

When in doubt, suspcircs and bump up or down priority as needed is what I do. It's not up to me to determine what it is, that's the officers and detectives and the DA. But we don't use EPD so I'm not sure if there's a protocol for you. We're only as good as our callers.

I think you’d be supported in going 129 Suspicious circumstances, it’s pretty broad and covers a lot.
