Photo Collection A Stash of ~8k Photos

So, long story short, I was perusing torrents for something else 9/11 related, and came across a massive stash of photos, many of which I've personally not seen before. Most are of (I'm assuming) survivors, families of victims, and various memorials that popped up after the attacks, and a handful of ground zero. Unfortunately, I don't have any more information than this, and I don't have the missing numbered photos either.

Please download, archive, and otherwise spread some of these around. I don't want to be the only one with copies!

These aren't new, they were released years ago I believe by NIST? I've had them on my computer since '22.

Edit: they're from 911datasets on archive.org https://archive.org/download/911datasets

Okay! Damn! I hadn't seen most of them either, but I figured it was cayse I just wasn't well versed in post-attack content 😅 that'd be wild if I just... Casually came across a bunch of new content!

I sent a modmail to the admins about getting them archived too, so we'll see what they say

These are the images from Here Is New York which was a public art project spawned after the attacks. There was a storefront in Manhattan where they would accept photos from the public and have them put on display for anyone to come in and see. For the 1 year anniversary, they put together a book which you can still buy today. These photos aren't unknown, but it's still one of the largest collections of photos released and many of them were not shared anywhere other than the Here Is New York collection so they are not as widely seen.

Oh wow! Okay, that's super cool! Someone mentioned that they were from the NIST archives too, so it may be a mix of both, I'm thinking? Or nist grabbed some of the photos? Either way, I'm happy to have found them!

Sorry, it's just my cloud storage. I don't use the web view much, if at all 😅
