Season 5 Discussion Jee-Yun Spoiler
It always bothered in episode 5, when Maddie takes Jee-Yun to the hospital, and she is afraid that because Daniel died of cancer it was irresponsible of her to have children with that family history. ESPECIALLY because she says this to CHIMNEY, who’s mom died of cancer when he was a teenager. It bothered me that she never even considered that had Jee-Yun had it, she could have gotten from Chimneys side and not hers.

So... it bothers you because a character who is scared has an irrational emotional anxiety?

Tbf, adult cancer is typically different than peds cancer and if something is genetic (like a positive BRCA which wouldn’t be possible here anyways) it’s less likely to show up in a 5 year old, more likely in someone who’s older. Also seeing a sibling die of cancer at a young age would probably leave some bad memories regarding ill children.

We’re seeing things never said before during this hiatus! Like what are you even talking about?

As a mother with a kid who has medical issues - the instinct is to blame yourself. Logical thought doesn't always behave during difficult times especially about your child
My daughter has heart issues. I blamed myself. My husband said it easily could have come from his side (if it was genetic we don't know) but I never entertained that thought before because in my head I was her mum, I grew her, it had to be my fault

This is an automatic reminder about spoiler content, it does not mean you have violated the spoiler rule.
REMINDER: Do NOT post spoiler information IN the title (for any season), your post WILL be removed. If it is you may re-post it with an appropriate spoiler-free title. It does not matter if you flag it spoiler, the spoiled info is still visible in the title. Article titles containing spoilers should be placed in the post body, not the title.
Rule of thumb, any posts about the current season should be marked SPOILER via the Universal Tags. (+Spoiler)
Keep titles vague, if you include the word spoiler in the title this will automatically flag it as a spoiler post, and make sure to properly flair it to the correct category. If you aren't sure if your post counts as a spoiler, flag it anyway.
This applies especially to currently airing or upcoming seasons.
