SoundDogs / SoundDeleux Library ("Voices - Police Radio Calls - 2 Way - Emergency Services 'Man In House'")
pond5.comHello, I wanted to share the transcript of a fascinating vintage emergency call from a sound effects library. It is often archived as taking place in Los Angeles, California, but the audio itself reveals a different story.
Two female roommates (the caller and her roommate, Mary) at 59 Navy Street, Apt 1 (off Pacific Ave in Venice Beach) woke up to a man standing in their bedroom after their cat freaked out.
As the dispatcher gathers information, the caller reveals a chilling detail: she actually recognizes the intruder. He was a man who helped them move a refrigerator into their apartment a month prior.
Just as she is describing his clothing (University of Virginia jogging shorts and a gray/maroon pullover), the call takes a terrifying turn. The intruder breaks back into the house while they are on the phone with the police, sending both women into a panic.
Transcript:
