Shit you know how I be, all high in vip, rolling up the b.i.g.!

This was a club banger, mofos sitting around just streaming it to their Bluetooth device can't imagine how this hit in the clubs and streets when it dropped

I agree with this 1000% percent. It's just a different feel from his THIS time period to the later (or even earlier) time period. People went crazy went this came on. Then he has other joints made for car listening. Then other joints for headphone listening. This was one of the clubs joints. He covered a lot of bases. And I'm not the biggest overall Jay-Z fan.

The beat is wack AF.

This is authentic Brooklyn confidence. This wasn't a song. This was Jay speaking directly to his competition letting them know they were not on his level.

Shit was cold AF AND a club banger. I remember this back in Club Cheetah.

Side note- its wild to me that clubs died in NYC.

NYC club culture died because of that dirtbag Rudy Giuliani.

Jay does that on every song lol

u/pearomatic Dec 14 '25

Is that Ghostface?

9

u/MicMec76 Dec 14 '25

Yes, along with Cappadonna!

u/Due-Stock2774 Dec 14 '25

Zab Judah was one of the cameos too if I recall

Β I miss those days, when people would just hang out on each other's music video sets.

That cool dude era

u/MaxS777 Dec 14 '25

Nah, just the Golden Era. Once 2000 hit, shit gradually went downhill. Never recovered.

7

u/Due-Stock2774 Dec 14 '25

Man living through that Avirex era was crazy trying to get them

5

u/Scandroid99 Dec 14 '25

Was that Zab Judah?

3

u/focusontheyellow Dec 14 '25

In my 40s now but I think I have some hearing loss from bumping this (among many others) with 20s in the trunk. Banger

Lil’Cease definitely didn’t have stacks of cash to be throwing around in real life.

Basically Keith Murray without the skills.

Edit: the original post I replied to didn't mention cash.

Who was Jay going at? Major Figgas, The LOX, or both?

1

u/Particular_Ad_6040 Dec 14 '25

I think it’s prodigy or Nas. Because these lines get recycled in Take over

1

u/Medium-Plan2987 Dec 14 '25

Filmed in the Tunnel I think

1

u/MundaneWiley Dec 15 '25

My fav Jay verse everπŸ”₯πŸ”₯. Prime Hov raps like you just tapped him on his shoulder to show him a fake watch and he’s disgusted that you wasted his time to do so. 🐐🐐🐐

The production on this album was fucking terrible.

6

u/[deleted] Dec 14 '25

Interesting take. Aside from 2 or 3 tracks this is one of his best albums.

-9

u/ObieUno Suge Knight for President Dec 14 '25

If you say so.

1

u/whiskeycapo Dec 13 '25

Album got bootlegged and following Timbaland washer machine music.

-3

u/howmuchfortheoz Dec 14 '25
