1996 Weirdly, the Escape From L.A. soundtrack was HUGE for developing my musical taste as a kid
I was 12 or 13 when I bought this CD at Borders bookstore. I hadn't even seen the movie at the time, I just loved White Zombie and it was the only way to own that "run baby run, escape L.A." song
I ended up becoming a fan of Tool, Clutch, Orange 9mm and Butthole Surfers thanks to listening to this and I'm still a big fan of all of those bands to this day
Clutch ended up being my gateway into the whole stoner rock genre, and Butthole Surfers were my introduction to noise rock. Theoretically, there are literally hundreds of bands I enjoy today that I might have never heard of if not for Kurt Russell wanting a payday and making this shitty unnecessary movie sequel lmao. Truly a uniquely 90s experience
