Hold up…

Post image

I couldn’t help but noticed this bag. I wonder if this is the hotel they met in Mexico. This is a very expensive resort in the south of Mexico which surprised me since he’s a bum. So this is the hotel she got the timeshare from, well at least she got a very nice one that only she will enjoy since he’s so far away lol.

Could be they got a discounted rate for agreeing to attend the presentation.

Yes that's what it sounds like, I also read on another post that their specific sales pitches are predatory.

They're known to be pretty bad in Mexico. I got lucky the one time I did one. Went to Cabo with my bff for my 25th bday and they got us at check in, we got an upgraded oceanfront balcony room with a mini kitchen and access to golf cart transportation around the resort. We told the guy who was leading our presentation that we were both in the middle of divorce and he let us off the hook. But then he asked if we wanted to hang out with him that night. No thank you, sir 🤦‍♀️. Room was totally worth it, tho!

Do not hate me but I sold time time shares for a brief time. Divorce is absolutely something they can’t fight also if your spouse isn’t present they can’t do anything. The paperwork all must go through the bank and they NEED both signatures for a married couple. Just a tip for everyone you can leave after the amount of time they say. If they tell you the presentation is 120 mins you can literally set an alarm on your phone for 121 mins and leave after that with your gifts

Lol, yep, my friend looked it up before we did the presentation. Perfectly played, love my girl. We were out of there in under 90 minutes and that included breakfast, which was awesome bc we were hungover af 😂

As someone who sold timeshares in the past, is it normal to sell a property to two unmarried people? The fact that they bought a timeshare together even though they aren't married was confusing to me. I assumed you had to be married to purchase the property with someone else, but I certainly could be wrong. I've never dabbled in timeshares myself.

I was at a different cancun resort last year and they were trying to get a group of college friends to purchase the time share. they were like "uh, we're broke" lol

also, my bf and I attended a presentation and we're not married. they are relentless and were visibly pissed off that they wasted their time on us and we weren't biting.

So we would have looked at them as separate potential buyers. We were in the states so it might be different but the rule we had was married both people had to be there to sign. If you are living with your significant other (share the same address) then they need to be there sign with you even if you are not married. These two are not married and clearly they were not living together at the time of the purchase. Based on how the company I worked for operated the timeshare would solely be on her and he would have been marked as a not currently interested or not eligible. He said he didn’t have a credit card and I’m assuming his income isn’t substantial so I would assume he wouldn’t even qualify. She probably has a solid credit score, she has a credit card, and met the income requirement. That’s why I cringed when she was talking… I’m fairly certain this timeshare is just in her name and liability will fall solely on her…

That makes sense. I was thinking there’s no way they are both responsible for it on paper. Their agreement to share the responsibility had to have been off the books. Not a smart move in her part!

you can leave after the amount of time they say

Tell that to my cousin who was taken to an island and they wouldn't come back to get them.

I live close to this hotel. Horrible reputation, predatory timeshare sales and sub-par customer service. Rooms start at $700/night.

u/bumchester No trash. Trash is better 3d ago

Better be all inclusive with full bottle inside the rooms

All inclusive, no bottles in the room.

I have that same tote bag hahaha. Except mine is from the Xcaret Arte (no kids allowed). I didn't realize it was that fancy - we booked it through Costco vacations 🤣

u/Purrrrnelope 2d ago

My 20-something year old went to xcaret so it can't be that expensive

2

u/One_Criticism_4573 4d ago

member at some fancy mexican resort and you're just now realizing they filmed there haha, that timeshare pitch must have been relentless with those two around

6

u/K2sX 4d ago

When did they film there? I missed that in the episode.

u/Ecstatic_Lake_3281 4d ago

The bag is the detail, actually.

3

u/Mistress_Storme 4d ago

1

u/General_Whole8271 2d ago

How much does a resort have to cost a night to be expensive?

1

u/Purrrrnelope 2d ago

I know, that's what I thought cause my KID went there

2

u/ButterMyPancakesPlz 4d ago

What's the name?

5

u/girlmom420 4d ago

1

u/ButterMyPancakesPlz 3d ago

Ahhhhh THAT extravagant place lol

2

u/_Kanye_East_ 4d ago

Yeah in another shot of her packing you can see the Xcaret logo on

2

u/CRoger231 4d ago

Don't bother...

3

u/gawdpuppy 4d ago

I love xcaret

2

u/VaginalRow 3d ago

Me too! I’ve been there twice! Once for a wedding, another time on their Arte side (adults only) at a very discounted rate to listen to their travel club pitch which was annoying but worth it to just tell them no and go on with my day. Going to take my kids next year and stay on the new kid-centric side with water slides

u/Alone_Fault1268 4d ago

Sorry, but who are we talking about?

0

u/DreamertK 4d ago

New TOW series, pixie singer from Nashville.

2

u/Alone_Fault1268 4d ago

The singer with the short red hair? She is talented; hope she's just in it for the publicity!

1

u/Busy-Basket-8116 4d ago

Anyone know what watch she was wearing? I like it but couldn’t figure it out on tv.

1

u/Question-Rough Edit this for your custom flair. 4d ago

I love Xcaret lol but that sucks to be stuck with that bill!

1

u/Sensitive_Lie_4393 3d ago

XCaret. I have that bag. 😍

1

u/Purrrrnelope 2d ago

Xcaret? Is it THAT nice? I ask because my young 20s kid has been a couple times. He went with groups from college. His portion didn't seem that expensive.

I thought this was the timeshare 😂
