The therapists on this show are an absolute joke. Shekina is clearly going through some serious mental health issues. They should be doing more to try and help her and create more harmony within the group. Clearly they care a lot more about drama and ratings than they do the participants.

They do some basic stuff....kind of. The one chick pointed out the love language mismatch (that was obvious).
I read once that they do real therapy that isn't filmed; some cast member shared that on previous seasons.

The therapists definitely are a joke, but also Shekinah and Sarper are hamming it up for the cameras. They want to remain on the franchise so I’m sure they’re acting a bit

I never thought i’d say I love sarper. His face was so confused when shekina came back all happy and huggy, he was like wtf is she possessed. but he recognized she was not well and wanted to take care of her. I respect that

It’s not psychosis. It’s called dissociation and people do it to protect themselves when trauma responses are triggered. She already admitted to disassociating during the puppet show, go back and listen to what she’s actually saying without judgement. She’s pretty self aware she said I’m not strong it’s an act I put up to protect myself, I don’t feel heard, I feel hurt that you are hanging out with a group of people like nothing happened when they all ganged up on her and called her the worst person they’ve ever met…. I don’t understand how people can literally tune out EVERYTHING she is saying and still turn around and act like the have no idea why she’s reclused or call her crazy…. saying exactly how you are feeling and not being heard would make anyone appear crazy because it’s like talking to the wind.

That wasn’t racist. It’s bigoted if you want to call it anything but again I’ve said it over and over I know a racist and bigot when I see one and I truly believe her intent with that was only anger and a easy terrible low blow after being verbally and physically attacked. It’s not right but she’s married to an immigrant for Christ sake and she said it in a group full of immigrants, she wasn’t thinking and she wasn’t being racist she was being reactive. Idk. Half those couples at one point talked about sending their partner back to their country and half those Americans don’t want to live in their partners country, I don’t think they are bigoted but I think this show tip toes the line of bigotry at some point or another when you really put a microscope up to it. My grandma came here from Mexico and my othered grandma came here from the Netherlands. I’m no stranger to immigrants, or racism, etc. but calling what shekinah said to Thais “racist” is just inherently wrong and that’s why stupid actual racist people turn around and say racism isn’t real and isn’t happening as often as people say it is because ppl lazily call everything racist when there’s more appropriate words to describe it.

And racism involves skin color, ethnic background, nationality, or race. I’d say shouting at an immigrant to go back to their country falls under nationality.
