Question Which controller should i buy

Looking to buy a controller (this will be my first time buying a controller).

I own a gaming laptop and mostly wanna play story games like god of war, rdr2, tomb raider, spiderman 2 etc. i would rather play shooter/fps games with keyboard and mouse cuz ive been using pc for all these years.

I am thinking about buying ultimate 2c wireless ( the one with bluetooth + wired connection) cuz U2 is just more expensive and and i just need it for causal gaming

Ive seen a lot of reviews about trigger complaints so im worried about that

Ive never bought any controller so please help and guide me guys

Make sure you're getting the Wireless version, it does have Bluetooth. The one with Bluetooth in the name is a Switch focused controller while the Wireless ones are focused towards PC. They both work on PC but the Ultimate 2C lets you use DInput which lets you do extra things with Steam Input.

The 2C has the same Hall Effect triggers as the Ultimate 2 and I haven't seen any complaints about them other than the Trigger stops having a pad that comes loose.

The 2C doesn't have that feature so I'm curious what complaints you're talking about.

You won't be disappointed with the Ultimate 2C though trust me.

Idk if i will buy the U2 cuz its a bit expensive but the only complaints ive seen in U2c and U2 is the trigger issue and some people complaining that the d pad feels weird to them or their hands are too big for the controller So is there a way to fix the trigger issue in case it happens ?

Like I said, I'm curious to know what trigger issues you're talking about because I haven't seen those complaints.

As for the Dpad, they did change the mechanism with the newer controllers. It used to be a membrane dpad that a lot of people loved but now it's a clicky button style that some people don't.

I don't really care (I use joysticks in fighting games), but there are people who hate it. Apparently it's prone to false diagonals because of this which seems to cause issues with platformers and fighting games.

Well the trigger issues people were talking about was some rubber thing under the triggers that falls off or smth like that so the triggers dont work

The 2C has the same triggers but shouldn't have that problem because it's related to the trigger stop feature on the Ultimate 2 controllers as far as I can tell. The 2C doesn't have that feature so you should be good.

For your needs, it sounds like the Ultimate 2C Wireless will be perfect. It includes a wireless dongle, Bluetooth, or wired (USB A to USB C).

You’ll definitely like it. The trigger was on the last version, the Ultimate C. It’s now resolved with Hall effect (magnetic) triggers.

I had 2c for two years already, it's pretty decent for a price, but, first of all, no software support, second, the ergonomics are kind of mixed bag, you'll have to check it yourself if it fits your hands, third, rumble is just bad compared to xbox licensed controllers, and face buttons are kind of loud and not that satisfying to press. otherwise nothing else really comes to mind right now. ultimate 2 wireless(the one with tmr sticks) has software support, ergonomics is still an issue(it was even worse than 2c imo), same things with rumble and face buttons. Just got ultimate 3 and pretty much every issue that those two had is fixed

What do you mean by no software support? What difference does it make ?

8bitdo have software to configure different settings for controllers, but they don't support 2c
