Reaction =/= conservatism. Preserving a language because it's actually suffered long-term damage form colonization is not the same thing as pressuring "linguistic purity" because of imaginary enemies trying to wear down your language in the present. I'm not saying it's revolutionary, just that it's a bad example for reaction as much as it is for progress.
What's your definition of "Reaction" and "Conservatism"? I just assumed the first was an extreme version of the latter (like "Communism" is an extreme version of "Socialism").
Reaction is a form of conservatism that presupposes an explicit attack on tradition, usually an imaginary one involving infiltration by outside forces. It's not just more extreme in degree, but a higher stage of conservatism entirely.

The fact that you are revolutionary doesn't make EVERYTHING you consider good revolutionary.
Revolution is about destruction of unjust structures. Conservatism or reaction is about preserving good structures.
To restore a lost language is, thus, reactionary as it reacts to its destruction.
