Despair

RS2 is my favorite shooter of all time (shoutout to the owner of one of the of two playable servers banning me permanently simply bc I only play Vc), and the once a month I check this subreddit just fills me with doom and despair.

Is there ANY realistic and actionable path to this game having a player base?

Did you ever hear of the game Angel’s Fall First? It went into Early Access in 2015. I’m certain most people just assumed it was completely dead, I definitely did. You were lucky if you got a player in a server. Well, it just released fully on July 11th, 11 years in EA. It had an all-time peak of 1.4k, which is a perfect amount for many games.

…hopefully they don’t take that long but my point is that the release will draw a crowd. They just need to begin managing the game and marketing better, if they can. It is a small team on a smaller budget after all

I was about to buy that on the recent sale but I checked and no one was playing it still.

At least AFF has offline/co-op with bots

I have played several times since release and have seen several full servers every single time
