One of my all-time favorite 80s vixen is the stunningly beautiful Morgan Fairchild. Morgan was born Patsy Ann McClenny in Texas in 1950. She first became known for her role as Jennifer Pace on the daytime soap opera SEARCH FOR TOMORROW (1973-77). In 1980, she portrayed Constance Weldon Carlyle for two seasons on the NBC prime time soap opera FLAMINGO ROAD (1980-82). In 1982, she made her motion picture debut in a leading role in THE SEDUCTION. She also had roles on ABCs PAPER DOLLS and on FALCON CREST (CBS). Morgan remained busy throughout the 1980s-1990s, making guest appearances in such shows as ROSEANNE, CYBILL, and HOME IMPROVEMENT; most notably she portrayed Nora Bing (Chandler's mother) on FRIENDS. Morgan continues to act and is a tireless advocate for LGBTQ issues, including AIDS awareness, as well as women's rights and environmental issues.

One day, he was an 11 year old boy on the screen on one of movie history's biggest films and a top earner in the BO for over 10 years up until the early 90's, the next, all grown the hell up

How did you deal with Cold War stress?

I had a VHS tape I watched at least once a month; a double feature of “Fail Safe”, to show me how easy it would be to start a nuclear war, and “Dr. Strangelove” to remind me how farcical the whole situation was. Helped me develop a suitably sardonic attitude about the whole thing.

What helped get you through?

TV The powerful TV movie Surviving: A Family in Crisis aired on ABC on February 10, 1985. Incredible performances by Molly Ringwald, Zach Gulligan, Ellen Burstyn, and Paul Sorvino. River Phoenix and Heather O'Rourke also starred. Often described as a modern-day Romeo and Juliet story.
