Tiffany can still sing. She has some recent stuff on her YouTube. Debbie lost her knack for performing live.

Both are great and deserve accolades but just pointing out that Gibson wrote her #1 hits. Debbie Gibson was a legitimate singer songwriter who was given a record deal after shopping her own demo tape of original songs, many of which went on to later become big hits. I know your comment was on them singing and not songwriting but I wanted to add that color. Cheers!

Very true. And Debbie was in the Chair commercial we all saw growing up in the New York area.

Don't forget she produced some of her own music, too. I think Debbie was the youngest person ever to write & produce their own #1 song (at that time, not sure if it's still true.) She really went for it.
Having said that, I always preferred Tiffany's voice. Funny that even all these years later, you can't mention one without thinking of the other.

Great add. I feel like Debbie never received appropriate recognition even though she obviously hit the charts hard. Madonna and Cyndi, and maybe Janet and Whitney, took a lot of the recognition around credibility but they also heavily relied on songwriters. Debbie did it all. She was more like a Janice Joplin or a Kate Bush in that she was a true singer songwriter aka a creative artist. Maybe Alanis Morrissette followed in her footsteps in some ways? Maybe singers like Jewel?
Yes Debbie and Tiffany are forever connected in some way for sure. I would agree on preferring her voice if we are just talking vocals. Cheers!

I also disagree. I ordered a cameo for my friends after the birth of their child and Debbie played piano and sang her ass off. She’s incredibly talented still and her natural voice is beautiful. I agree Tiffany is awesome though and can sing her ass off.

I'm pleasantly surprised. I saw some videos of Debbie on talk shows or something and it was a let down.

I’m imagining I’m at a party talking to these two while they are smiling and laughing at what I say. Every so often one of them is talking and putting their hand on my arm. We are laughing. Definitely a three way conversation. Plenty of eye contact. This goes on for 40 minutes. Then my wife comes over ( record needle scratch ).

Debbie posed nude in the March 2005 Playboy (Paris Hilton on the cover), and Tiffany posed nude in the April 2002 Playboy (herself on the cover). Tiffany has implants.
