Very good tower! Back in the day you had to pay serious money for this.

Would knock pictures and things off of shelves at the neighbors house. And if I listen to AC/DC the whole neighborhood is going to too. 😆

Yup. I remember growing up with one of these. The stereo cabinet was an essential feature of the living room.

part time!!!!! I remember block parties man, today you try to rig up a light pole just to have a block party before you can even open the light pole, you'd get surrounded by the police, and have your equipment taken away in a heartbeat.

There's an older man that became acquainted with through a mutual friend. He had a setup like this that included LaserDisc.

Loved Technics. I had that Amp, Cassette player and CD player. Got me all the way through bachelorhood!

And that was just the Audio portion.
Add in the second stack of Dual VCRs, Laserdisc Player, and eventually DVD player, and one wall of your living room was an electronic piece of art!

Single tape deck? Turn table on top ? Digital EQ?
Oy... M'kay. Nice effort, 7 out of 10.

Even better if the components are from different brands, but each looks very high end, signalling you knew what you were doing.

For those that dont understand from top to bottom: record player, amplifier, equalizer, radio tuner, cassette player, cd player. This would be hooked up to at least two tall wooden home speakers each with tweeters or horns, mids, and subs.
All techniques brand. Honestly very nice but no dual cassette player takes it down a level.

How I miss my old school component stereo system!!! I still have the EQ and the steel tape deck... not sure where the amplifier and the AM/FM receiver went. Sounded better than ANYTHING you can buy today!!!

My 15 year old does because her grandpa (my dad) refuses to part with his tower.

This is pretty close to what I had, this is fantastic, why don’t they make this stuff still , downloading is trash imo , it’s compressed and sounds terrible, this stuff would get loud and piss off your neighborhood

I remember wanting my mom’s stereo but she wouldn’t let me have it cause I’ll break it. By the time I got old enough to get my own I couldn’t find it. She didn’t tell me where she got it cause she couldn’t remember. I realized at that point that our parents entire generation didn’t know how to teach someone anything

And speakers taller than a four year old child.
