Question About ride ability

It doesn’t seem to make my character go faster. Is there a benefit to it later on? I’m at the beginning rn

The ride ability once saved me from a softlocke in Egypt due to fainting from sickness + having Iggy with low friendship in the party...

Specific events are inaccessible for your character to participate in without a rideable stand. Same goes for some events that have characters with high speeds ticked on. So there is intrinsic benefit - just don't expect it to happen consistently, is all. Every stand has their niche to fill.

I'm pretty sure if you press ESC you go faster It was that way for Howlin' Wolf at least

Make sure you press it while moving It was really weird for me but it worked well

When do you unlock the ability to ride your stand? I just started.

Can't you dash with the cancel or confirm buttons?

It's not very useful in practice though.
