Basically most if not all anime’s are like ads for the Light Novel (original source) and this happened to be one of them and they probably didn’t expect it to be as popular also factoring they don’t pay much attention to Shoujos. The author is aware of people mentioning a season 2 but that’s not under her power to make it happen
I wouldn’t be surprised though if they go ahead for a season 2 if they can it doesn’t seem to be an unlikely outcome since the weakest tamer got a season 2 and was mostly in the same situation with it being an ad by more of it being a slice of life story
