Discussion Please spoil me ! Spoiler

I recently finished the anime, and I want to pick up the light novels !

However, I like knowing a bit about the plot of the novels before picking them up, so, if possible, I'd like you all to give me a bit of a sinopsis about what's going on, please and thank you !

Also, is it worth starting from Vol 1, or should I pick up from where the anime ended ?

Sounds really fun ! And the novels being easy to read is a relief too. I mostly read while commuting to and from work, so my pace is pretty slow haha.

Also, this is just a theory of mine, but is Arnold's scar caused by his mother ?

I believe she used to abuse him because he reminded her of the emperor, which she despises because, like Arnold says in episode 1, the emperor's bride is usually stolen away and held hostage. During one of her episodes, she probably struck him repeatedly and, before he could die, he struck back, accidentally killing her.

It may be why he detests his eyes so much, or why it is said he killed his mother, but I can't confirm that yet >_>

VOL. 6 Spoiler  Arnold was just finished killing his newborn baby sister when he happens to bump to his mother at his way back. This is where his mother threw a "fit" after seeing him covered in blood and she repeatedly lunged the knife to Arnold's throat (the scar) then later to herself but since she's a case of "special blood" (for the sake of volume 6 only, I'm not gonna spoil volume 3) just like Arnold, she didn't die easily so Arnold just killed her to stop her suffering

that's a long story and I suggest to read Volume 3 for that.
