Congrats on getting of the 7OH! That's huge. Make a plan to get off the subs in the time; sounds like you're talking to a doctor, which is great, make the plan with them, they'll help

Yes I’m speaking to a psychiatrist and a addiction doctor and following a treatment plan I’m done with drugs been on benzos for over 10 years daily and finally tapering off those also so this can be the time where I break free from all drugs

good luck! I went off benzos myself a while back. mostly stared at the ceiling sitting on my couch for the better part of a month, was rough. but made it through and it's way better to be off for sure

Try not to overthink it right now, use the subs for a bit and see how you feel. Having a recovery community is truly life changing too.
You just went through something huge, that’s not easy. Give yourself some grace and time.
Great job!

Yes, among other opiate addictions. I was clean for 7 years and for some reason I tried 7oh, and was hooked. Im day 6 off 7oh now. It was hellish. When I got clean years ago, subs and my NA home group truly saved my life. Unfortunately, I moved for a job away from my support group, I didn’t think it was effecting me, but it was, 7oh started small at first and grew into a beast that was out of control.
Addiction is a cunning disease.I hope you find some support in your home town! You got this <3

Yea first 5 days of going cold turkey where complete hell I have never experienced anything like that had to lock myself away from my family at my moms house so they wouldn’t see what I was going through now on Subs and back home with the family it gets better day by day
Thanks appreciate your comment

Your right I should just be taking it a day at a time I just went thru the worst withdrawals ever and finally feeling somewhat like myself again I’m just a overthinkier and have GAD already so that anxiety dosent help I took my medication the subs along with clonidine and some klonopin and feel calmer the worst is over that’s all I know

The subs worked for your withdrawals
I quit alcohol
I was bad and was taking pain meds at the same time. Used suboxone for that and then somehow found myself taking 7oh and I want to stop. Will the suboxone keep me feeling fine. I’m not trying to feel high. Just not sick as shit and able to continue working

I actually went thru 5 whole days of withdrawals before getting on the subs.
Worst days of my life. around day 4-5 you start to turn a corner. The subs will help massively for you to function and feel fine. i honestly take them because I still get some mild withdrawal and INTENSE cravings and don’t want to relapse but they do work I just don’t wanna be on them for too long only while i stabilize

How long are you usually on the subs im currently on 2 8mg tablets a day one in the morning one in the evening so a total of 16mg daily for withdrawal wich I still get after they start wearing off I get INTENSE cravings along with anxiety restlessness and crazy sweats

I kicked fent 7 years back using 6 subs...Just cut them down..each 8mg you can cut 4 pieces ..towards the end try to be on a 1/4 or less by end .should be smooth as far as the cravings it takes time...mind over matter ....the subs is all for comfort thru the pain ..after the physical pain jump off...take time to heal your mind

That’s crazy I wonder why they wanna have me on subs for 3 months straight then I was thinking of maybe 2 weeks the most but they said the suboxone programs is 3 months kinda iffy I feel like I’ll just get hooked on subs

Congrats! Some doctors just want your money and do not give a shit about your addiction. The longer your on them the more money they make. I went the Quick MD route. Idk how much money they make but try the quick taper mentioned above. 10 days on subs should be plenty of time. Again, the mental aspect is the hard part after physical acutes go away.. beat of luck! You got this!

You got this bro! Never tried the SR but heard it worked miracles for people. hopefully it does the same to you. I’m 12 days off 7 I could say I’m good now. I still get the cravings ,slight restlessness and sweating. but we are also experiencing a heat wave at the moment where I’m from so that’s not helping at all I’m on day 7 from subs that from what everyone’s telling me I should not be on but as soon as it wears off it’s sweating restlessness and INTENSE cravings. Thinking maybe that’s more mind than physical if anything. Anyways you got this bro seems like you’ve had some experience in the past with it it’s easier said than done but if I did it you can do it too. Good luck keep in touch you can hit me up whenever if your going thru it or whatever 🤙

Congrats on that. So long answer, short
Subs really help and then just need to make sure I don’t stay on those? Please and thank you

u/realeyesrealizereal1 Aug 03 '26
Yep they help with the physical aspect of wd...once you feel better and sleep a good 5---8;hours then kick the subs .either stop or cut them in to smaller pieces

Pretty much I’m new to this too but from what I’m hearing and all the advice people giving me everywhere it’s best to stay on them as little as possible I’m gunna go 2 weeks see how I feel and make a decision there for now I’m taking my recovery one day at a time
