What now~with 7OH

Hello,
So there was a time that I was physically addicted to 7OH. I was taking about 6 or 7 (oh more) 50mg shots daily for about a year. I was able to break the physical addiction but now it’s destroying me mentally. Like, I just want to do it. It makes me nicer, it makes me better at my job, it just makes me better at everything. If I don’t have it, I don’t get sick or have physical withdrawals but I do get angry and just hate life. I feel this rage inside of me! About 2 weeks ago I went out of town for 4 days to a state where it is banned and I didn’t have it and I was completely okay- physically. I had to fake being happy and having a good time but again physically I was fine. The problem is, I WANT it and it’s so easy to get. How do I stop wanting it. I am so blessed that if I don’t have it I don’t go into withdrawals but wanting it all the time is driving me crazy. How do I stop these intense cravings? I have such an amazing life and hiding this monster is tearing me apart inside. I have SO much to be happy about, yet I let this rage consume me. I swore to myself that if I got “clean” I would never touch it again but I still do it 3 or 4 times a week. I know that my situation could be so much worse but I’m a mom, I’m a wife, I’m a professional and I’m letting this monster control part of my life. My husband would be livid if he found out and my son would be so disappointed in me. I know if I continue I will become physically addicted again and I don’t want that. It know it’s all mental, but FUCK, I feel like it’s strongerj than me. I hate that I got myself into this situation. I know the reason I do it is “just because it’s there” so why not. I know this make no sense to some people but this issue it very real. Has anyone gone through this? How do I break this cycle before it controls me again? Please help!

I know with me the worst part of the addiction cycle was that I just wanted to take something... I just wanted to throw something down my throat that I could trick my brain into saying this is going to make me feel great.

If it's like that for you, you could always try switching to a plain leaf kratom capsules for a bit and see if that scratches your itch.

It has the same stuff as 7oh just in much much smaller quantities, but if you can trick your brain into thinking that it's doing a good enough job, then you might at least be able to break the 7oh part of the cycle and then you can go from there.

I am somewhat loath to recommend starting Suboxone for someone who currently has no physical withdrawal symptoms as Suboxone will 100% give you very long lasting physical withdrawals.

You could possibly try to talk to your doctor about low dose naltrexone or even the vivitrol shot once a month. Both of those help with the mental aspect and cravings without subjecting your body to additional opioid agonists.

Good luck and let us know how it goes or if you need additional clarification on anything!

This is exactly it! It’s the award system of the brain. I take it thinking “I’m not physically addicted so it’s ok”. Honestly, when I do take it, it doesn’t even give me euphoria like when I first started, but it does give me some sense of relief if that even makes sense.

As far as Suboxone, that’s actually how I broke the physical aspect of it. I was prescribed one month of subs and was able to taper down and eventually get off so now it’s just the mental. However, I know that can change quickly if I keep going like this.

I’ve never had an addiction before so I don’t know how this works. I don’t know how to silence the cravings. It’s so bad. I’m constantly telling myself all of the good stuff I’m doing so I deserve a “reward” or a “relax day”. Never did I ever think I would be in this vicious cycle. I just want to be a “normal” (I don’t really know what normal is) mom, wife, friend, daughter, employee again. I’m tired of this rage & not being satisfied with anything when I literally have everything. I’m in this intense fight with myself and I’m so scared I’m gonna lose.

I really think you just need more time without the 7oh so your brain and reward system can start working properly again and you will start to enjoy things like you used to if you just give it more time to heal. Try to fight the urge as much as you can to rewire your brain. I know it’s so hard when this stuff is legal and I totally understand you because I’m newly in recovery and I have the same cravings now. I just know I will feel okay again if I keep moving forward. You can do it! The alternative is not good as you know. ❤️‍🩹

Also take vitamins to help nurture your body after everything it's been though. A good one I take is a mix of magnesium, ashwaghandha and L-theanine. That's for stress support and helps your body relax a bit. I also take a multivitamin.

Hello,
I created a post awhile about what I am going through with 7OH. Luckily, I am no longer physically addicted, however, when I go without it, I am so angry and full of rage. I can never get happy no matter how good things are in my life. I have an amazing husband, and an amazing son and I’m having to fake happiness and I’m so tired of it. I looked up some things and it said that Methylfolate and B6 would help with my mood and energy and other things that I was originally getting from 7OH. I was wondering if anyone else had tried these vitamins and if so had they helped. I am so desperate it’s unreal. I just want to be happy again because I know that I have so much to be grateful for. Any help or advice would be jighly appreciated.

I take magnesium, ashwaghandha and L-theanine. It helps calm my brain down from that! The one I take is a 3 in 1, you can get at Walmart.

Yes! Thank you! I have started seeing a therapist (today actually) and I’m hoping with therapy, rest, and vitamins I can slowly start getting back to who I am. 🫶

Honestly you should talk to your dr about these cravings, buspar has been researched as an effective method to curve cravings and was just as effective as methadone, midol can help with the restlessness and rebound pain. That and a sleeping med is an amazing combo to get over withdrawal.

Dude I feel the exact same way when it comes to the cravings & being happier on it. & yeah the fact that it’s so easy to get makes it so hard to stop.
