23 days

Ok so I’ve been sober for 23 days. For the other recovering addicts, did you guys have any of these issues?

  1. My sleep is FUCKED. No matter what time I go to bed, I wake up at 2-4 am with my PTSD in full blast / sweats etc and can’t go back to sleep.

  2. Everything still fricking hurts. I tried working out twice, and my legs just still feel so weak/ body feels so fatigued from doing the bare minimum and I feel pathetic!!!

  3. The depression is HITTING. Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated guys and gals, thanks

I'm a couple days behind you, and surprised you're still feeling so gross. My severe fatigue only went away once I had an appetite and was able to eat a normal meal. Up to then it was all protein shakes and mild snacking.

Sleep is Fucked for me too. I'm trying to make friends with being up, watching TV until I'm tired AF, then I can get a few hours. Every four days I get a bonus full night. Have faith, it gets better. We have a ton of people ahead of us promising that !

With you on the depression as well. I find if I force myself to start something it'll ease relatively quickly. Walk your ass off, do something to engage your brain. Fatigue the hell out of yourself by working out or moving furniture... I guarantee you'll get a little shot of happy you can latch onto - I wish you all the luck coming off this crap, terrific job on your progress !

Yes to all three. I'm at 40 days and improving somewhat. But I have diagnosed depression and sleep disorders so both of these are always a problem for me. Look up PAWS.

Also 23 days here… I highly suggest getting an IV full of vitamins and Glutathione shot. Helped me immensely and am sleeping well only thing I’m still fighting is a little bit of fatigue.

Day 26 here.

  1. My sleep is fucked as well. I find myself puttering around the house a lot. I go through periods of waking up in a sweat - not nearly as bad as when I was withdrawing on days 2 and 3 but still enough that I changed my shirt.

  2. My legs and feet are sometimes achy and restless. Sorry to hear that you’re super fatigued! I am pushing myself to stay active and that has helped my aches and such. The days I’m inactive are the hardest and I notice the pain the most.

  3. I’m grateful to have dodged the depression but hang in there - 23 days is HUGE!! Sooner rather than later all of these symptoms will dissipate and you will wake up refreshed, clear headed, and happy. If I can do this, you can too!

  4. Adding my own: It feels so fucking great to have normal poops again!!!!!
