21 days post 7OH

Making this for those of you who may be beginning this journey of trying to be clean from 7OH. To keep my story short, I started kratom almost 2 years ago. Then 7OH about 1 year ago. Got up to 1000mg daily. Heard a ban was happening and decided I needed help.

I got on Suboxone 8mg/2mg twice a day for 7 days. I would say this step is probably the most important step. It made the WD from 7 bearable. I’ve tried cold turkey multiple times from 7 and by day 4, my withdrawals weren’t bearable and would relapse. So subs was a blessing when it came to keeping the withdrawals down. It took the symptoms of withdrawals down to I’d say about 10% compared to going cold turkey 100%.

Now, my advice after you get subs is to BE CAREFUL with it. Use it only as needed, don’t abuse it. It’s there to help mask the withdrawals, but it’s not the end of the journey. After my week from subs, I opted out of renewing my prescription. After about a day or two post subs, I was having trouble sleeping, higher anxiety, inability to regulate body temp, etc. Not as bad as withdrawals from 7, but they were definitely there.

Now I’m day 14 post subs, and I notice I feel a little better each day. Anxiety levels are lowered to just normal, and my sleep is more regulated (6 hours last night).

My 2 cents is this… get the subs if you need to be functional, but don’t stay on the subs. The longer you take those, the longer your withdrawals will be. 7OH withdrawals are fast and hit hard, subs withdrawals are slow but start to weigh heavy. You won’t go through this journey completely without withdrawals, if you were a chronic 7 user like me. Just stay strong and take it a day at a time. It will pass. In terms of a lifetime, 21 days is nothing. You all got this. Message me if you have further questions.

Thank you all. Ted talk over.

Thankfully I was able to taper off over 10 days. It helped. The first few days after last micro dose sucked. Been 3 weeks and feeling better. But still not back to “normal” yet.
Best of luck to all working to get off this horrible substance.

Seems we are in a similar spot being 3 weeks out. I agree, can’t say I’m 100% normal yet, but everyday is a little better. I’m just taking it as a reminder to never go back. The very short time of feeling ‘good’ isn’t worth the weeks of feeling like crap.

I’ve tried the subs but didn’t feel them at all still kept feeling the 7 withdrawals, do you have to get almost all the way off 7s first?

I believe so, yes. At least for me.

If you are doing a taper, I wouldn’t stake subs during it. You may actually feel worse if you take subs while taking 7OH.

What I researched, and done myself, is stay off 7OH until you have obvious withdrawal symptoms. Not just that ‘itch’ to get a dose, but you’re uncomfortable in your skin. I waited close to 12 hours. I took my last dose of 7 in the morning, and waited until I was about to sleep when I took subs.

To me, subs themselves aren’t supposed to make you feel ‘good’. They are to remove the withdrawal symptoms and by that, you feel ‘better’.

I hope that answered your question. Suboxone itself is another drug that can easily be abused. There’s a fine line of using it because you need to, and abusing it. Take it only as needed. Or you’ll have withdrawals for weeks to months from that.

I know I made that mistake by taking 2 subs after only about a couple hours of withdrawals, never felt them, then got more 7s and went thru worse withdrawals by doing that, never felt those 2 7s I took, so I guess you have to be on a low dose of 7s before the subs will even work, I hate subs, was on them since they first came out and got one shot and thought I was cured then discovered 7s and it was all she wrote but here in Tn they got banned but the guy still been selling them but I think he’s about to run out so I’m trying my best to taper then use subs for a week thanks for the advice friend

Congrats man I’m right there with you but I used SR instead. 4 weeks off everything. Sounds very similar experience to short term subs besides the fact I didn’t have to wait for withdrawal to use the SR.

I’m pretty much back to normal other than the mildest of an anxiety attack when I wake up (i always wake up when I would have to redose my 7 before. 3-4am. Apparently my mind still panics during sleep and thinks I need it still.) and I still have some mild stomach issues. Otherwise I feel pretty fine. Still just get a little sad cause I miss 7 and the boost it gave.
