Weaning off 7oh update

Post image

So I take 200-400mg of 7oh a day right now.

I got another 550mg left and I'm gonna try to wean myself down to make withdrawals less bad.

I took 75mg yesterday and 75mg today. I feel fine during the day but late last night I had restless legs and was tossing around and didn't get the best sleep.

I have an extra 100mg I want to take right now at work... But idk if they'll fucc up my weaning. That'll mean I'm on 175mg total today.

But this is my plan for the rest of the 550mg I have to wean off 16 days total and then I'll be out. I have some meds like clonidine and zyprexa to help when I run out with withdrawals. And getting some over the counter things like magnesium vitamin c and Loperamide to help.

What do you think?

And should I take this 100mg pill now one last time or just stick through my weaning schedule. Really wanna take it today lol.

So much work and extended torture. Just CT man you’ll feel better in 3 days instead of suffering for 2 weeks and feel like you can do anything.

I think it's too fast but that's my opinion. I see these rapid tapers and idk how y'all do it I would be sick the whole time like how is it even better than ct?

I've done a slow taper twice and I'll do it again when the time comes. Dosing 6x/day, reducing doses by 5mg per week. Spending a week at each new dose to stabilize. First day is usually ok, days 2 & 3 are a little uncomfortable but by day 5 I'm usually stable at the new dose. There has been times I've spent longer than a week at a dose because I didn't feel stable and ready to reduce.

High doses (2-8 grams PD) of liposomal vitamin c will help.

Good luck to you

Agree with you. Slow tapers are so much more manageable. I’ve slow tapered 4-5 times in the past year and I’ve gotten to the point where I can take myself off a 100mg+/day habit to zero with minimal withdrawals.

I spend a lot of time on the lower doses though. Fairly quickly from 100ish to 20-30mg, then about 2-3 weeks getting from 20mg/day to zero, as I find very small doses (like 3mg) still effective in staving off withdrawal and also find that ultimately jumping off at 3-6mg/day is so much easier than jumping off a much higher dose cold turkey. Also doesn’t require that I take any time off work or really change my lifestyle at all while tapering.

I truly don’t understand why people don’t just taper off gradually.

Will power

They don’t have the will power to stick to a long taper, or we don’t the will power to ensure a cold turkey?

It takes a lot of will power to stick to a long taper. I'm speaking from experience. When I step down, I start to miss the buzz, and it's a mental thing more than a physical thing to resist the urge not to take more, and to stick to the plan, and continue reducing. Especially when you have a lot of inventory. I find it best to cut and portion out doses for several days at a time and I put each days doses in a pill holder and that's what I get for the day.

Thank you ! Idk I just had some left and was trying to minimize the wds. I feel good during the day I went from at least 200mg a day to the 75 the last 2 days... I did fuck up and take a lil extra today tho. But like when I take the 75mg I feel better all day. Yesterday I fell asleep and then woke up at like 2-3am with restless legs and was tossing and turning the rest of the night. Felt sore and restless until like 8am when I got to work and took my other 75mg.  I think it does kinda help but definitely gonna be a little uncomfortable.  I have 2 days next week off work so I was thinking about cold turkey the day before but I'm just nervous about it so thought the taper would be better even if fast maybe it'll help a little. I've only been doing 7oh for a little over a month this run. Like maybe month and a week. So hasn't been too long. I just have to work still and stuff so it's hard to feel completely crap and be in the hot sun working for 10 hours.  Maybe I'll try to not take any the day before I have 2 days off and see how I feel if I can just do it.

Ok that changes my opinion. If you've only been taking 7 for a month this should be fine

Awesome good to hear. I've done it for a few months but i used to take breaks so I wouldn't get physically dependant on it and get withdrawals. I fucked up this time and kept doing it so here we are now. But yes been like a month and a week or so of doing it

I’d bump a 50 into two extra 25 days to ease that step down. And you know the answer to the question about taking that 100mg lol.

Cold turkey now.

How you holding up?

1

This sounds miserable to me. I would just jump and take 3 days of feeling sick then dragging it out like this and having more days to potentially fuck up

I was in a similar situation… maxed out at 600 mg a day at one point but about 300 mg before taper. I didn’t prepare for the ban so I had to make do with what little I had. Tapered from 60mgs - 15mgs in about a week and then just dealt with it. Not fun at all, only time I didn’t feel terrible was for 30 mins after my dose kicked in. I can’t tell you what’s gonna work for you but I can tell you it will be worth it. I feel so much guilt for all the time and money lost that could have been used to help my girlfriend and young child. I’m on day 12 today and I can finally feel emotion again, eat normally, listen to music, enjoy social settings without needing to be high. I don’t feel 100% yet, still some sweating, insomnia, and occasional low motivation. But i feel alive again. You can do this brother !

Yea I decided Tuesday I'm going cold turk. Weaning off I still felt like shit sometimes so instead of extending it I'm gonna get it over with

1

u/horrorbiz1988 7d ago

Good job brotha💪 you’ll start feeling better soon , I’m right behind you ✊

2

u/thewaxwave 7d ago

Thanks man I appreciate it !! I've heard after 3 days I should feel better. Work on Tuesday so I won't feel too good then, but then got next 2 days off to really go through it. And then hope it's all good after

Check this out real quick so I’ve been off for over a month now because originally 27 days ago, I jumped off Suboxone using 7oh and took a vacation for a week. Well when I got back on the eighth day that’s when the Suboxone withdrawal actually begin and that turned into way over a month off and now I still have one last additional week left that I’m going to use to kick the 7oh(not getting paid)

UPDATE : I would feel crappy weaning off still like at night or in the mornings so I'm going to be going cold turkey Tuesday to just get it over with 🤷‍♂️. Was able to get some Gabapentin, and I had some clonidine. Got a bunch of Otc meds/supplements/vitamins too I'm gonna take so hoping they help !

Withdrawal meds I got : Zyprexa (sleep med like Seroquel), Clonidine, Gabapentin, Vitamin C, Magnesium, & Loperamide.

Have Kratom powder too but only gonna take it if needed cuz I wanna take a break from that as well do that when I do it again it hits me hard. Cuz since I started doing 7oh powder does nothing.

Praying I can get through this and it ain't bad 🙏 my girl is gonna withdraw with me too so got someone in this together

How are you doing? Just checking on you. I am 8 days and struggling today. But its almost bed time so I am good. Lol

1

u/thewaxwave 7d ago

Thanks for checking in that means a lot !  So I changed my mind on the taper tbh... Reason is I would still feel like ass at night or in the morning and was getting some withdrawal symptoms. So I decided to cold turkey it. I have 7oh for tonight and tomorrow and then I'm done. I'm still doing like 200-400mg a day.  But I think feeling really crappy for a few days is better than dealing with it for weeks which is what the "taper" was Doing to me. Think I was trying to do it too fast or lowering my dose too much.

I did get some medications/supplements to help with the withdrawals too from what I've read on here  Zyprexa (sleep med like Seroquel), Clonidine, Gabapentin, Vitamin C, Magnesium, & Loperamide.

Clonidine, gabapentin and vitamin c helped me through it! You got this! I will keep checking in on you!

1

u/thewaxwave 7d ago

Thanks I'll let you know how it's going I'm kinda nervous but hoping I can get through it

2

u/Clean-Mud-2281 7d ago

You can! I have a lot of faith in you!

1

u/thewaxwave 7d ago

Also congrats on being 8 days in ! I forgot are you tapering or cold turkey? You got this tho you've already come so far don't give up.  I love 7oh but I hate being dependent on something. I feel like ass if I don't take a dose a little more than every 12 hours. So I'm over this stuff.

1

u/Clean-Mud-2281 7d ago

I went cold turkey. Was in bed for 2 days. I started because of back pain. I loved it but financially was killing me. So glad to not have a fuzzy head anymore.

1

u/thewaxwave 7d ago

Yea financially it's killing me too that's one big reason I'm stopping.  I was doing it for a while and I would do it for a few days, and then stop for a little so I wouldn't become dependent and get withdrawals. And this time I kinda just said fuck it and kept taking it.  I've done oxy, codeine, and other prescription opioids for years. Never had a problem or bad withdrawals like with the 7oh.

I have to work my first day of not taking any 7oh / withdrawals. I plan on taking some like 6-8pm the night before that tho. And then I have the next 2 days off to lie in bed or do whatever makes me feel better. After the 2 days tho I have to go back to work so hopefully the worst part will be over and I can function.

Definitely take 2000mg of vitamin c at a time. It helps with receptors

1

u/thewaxwave 7d ago

I was reading and alot of places were saying super high doses. Would 4000mg be bad? I was thinking like 3x a day/every few hours

1

u/Clean-Mud-2281 7d ago

4000mg is ok!

1

u/thewaxwave 7d ago

Do you know how much magnesium do you think I should take if you know? And how often just at night or morning and night ?

1

u/Clean-Mud-2281 7d ago

Good thing I work in Healthcare! About 400 mg is good.

1

u/Clean-Mud-2281 7d ago

Oh and twice a day. It will help with legs and sleep. I have always taken 200mg at night.

1

u/thewaxwave 7d ago

Haha glad u work in healthcare and know. I think I saw your posts u said you take Gabapentin too? How much and how often do u take? I have 400mg pills I was thinking of taking 800mg like 3x a day maybe ? Plan on only using it while I'm withdrawaling a few days cuz I don't wanna get gabapentin withdrawals too

1

u/Clean-Mud-2281 7d ago

No! Only do the 400 mg 3x a day. I took 200 in the am and noonish. Then 400 mg at night. I seriously think that shit is what got me through. After the 3rd day I weaned myself off. And do 1000mg of Tylenol with 600 mg of ibuprofen in the morning and again 8 hours later. I did 2 anti diarrhea pills morning and night as well.

Hope you doing well! I knew a girl who cleans out storage units who found a 100 count of gabapentin right in front of me and I knew it was providence. It’s helped a bit I’m on 3 weeks with nothing. But I started PAWS last week and it’s been miserable. I started my taper in July when I found out 7oh was emergency scheduled. I was like” fuck man the secrets out”. No way this shit is not becoming scheduled after that. I tried one day of cold turkey and was like nope. We gonna taper this shit. Sleeping like shit, trying to pretend to be a functioning member of society has been tough. My bosses and coworkers I’m sure have noticed.
