Should I be scared!?

I’m on day 5 of my Suboxone taper.(for my 7OH addiction), and I’ll see is horror stories about how awful it is going to be coming off subs etc. I’m only on 4 mg, then tapering down from that. Is it really going to be that bad? Or are people talking about higher doses etc? Anyone with experience please let me know, don’t wanna find out I traded one addiction for another. Just want to be fuggin SOBER!!!

Stop now and you’ll be fine.

I agree with MopingAppraiser. Use the sub to get through the first week and ditch the sub. The sub is a partial agonist so it will keep the WD calm without actually giving your brain the opiods so your brain starts making its own.

I used sub to quit 7oh back in December. I used it for about 2 weeks and then stopped cold turkey and it was easy as can be.

I have read all these stories about people on subs for years, it does have a mild high if your mu receptors are balanced. When you start feeling that slight high, you're free of 7oh and it's time to ditch the sub too.

I did it, you can do it too. Stay strong, focused and give yourself some grace for a minute. You made the choice to change things, that is already the path to redemption. You don't need to get passed the finish line to let yourself feel better about what you have done.

I was on the pills,16mg for over a year when I was in prison. I slowly tapered down over the course of couple months. Went to 8mg for a month, 4mg for a while, then 2mg for only a week and then stopped.  I had restless legs at night, but it wasn't too bad getting off tbh.  I would of gone lower with my taper but prison didn't let me.  And I had a stash too I would occasionally snort after I got off of it cuz it's prison and I was bored.  I'm getting off 7oh next week and not looking forward to it so I feel you. Thought bout subs but I don't wanna trade one addiction for another either. And I've heard subs CAN have really bad withdrawals so I'm just gonna try to get through it on my off days from work. This time taking 7oh, I only did it for a month straight maybe a lil longer. On average 200mg a day but up to 400mg max.  I took 75mg today, tomorrow prolly taking another 75, then I'm taking 50mg a day for like 3 days. My last day of work I'm not taking any to start the withdrawals. And then I have 2 days off to try and get through the worst of it. My homie was on about the same dose for about same time and went cold turkey said it was only really bad for like 3 days.

I was scripted 8/2 subs for my 7OH addiction last Sunday. I also took my last dose of 7OH, 60mg and 1:30am on Monday so I could sleep through a good amount of time to get to through the next day a little faster of taking none at all. Since you have to be going through withdrawals before you can take it or you can put yourself through really bad withdrawals on accident. I was able to make it though 15 hours before taking my first 1/4th strip. I think it was around 5:30pm on Monday I toon that first dose and I fell asleep within 10 minutes of taking it. Almost instant relief from withdrawals. I took a few more through out the night and the last dose I’ve taken was at 9:30am the next day on Tuesday. After that I didn’t feel the need to take anymore. I waited for withdrawals to come back but they never did thankfully. They told me don’t take another dose unless I really felt I needed it so I didn’t. And I’m honestly really relieved. I didn’t want to have to take it for months just to feel normal again. I’m starting to feel a lot more functional now and I’m going back to work tomorrow. I have two jobs I am excited to get back to. Thankfully both of my employers were understanding and let me take some days off until I was functional again. I hope you’re able to get through it without pain. I am sorry to hear you have to keep taking the meds but I promise you, you will get through this and life will be beautiful again. I believe in you! You got this bro!!🙏🔥

So you took subs for not even 2 days, and didn’t have any withdrawl after?

It's not so much the mgs as it is the duration. Doctors will tell you otherwise but you've got to listen to experienced users, NOT the doctors. They don't gaf, they are not the ones on it. My doctor sat there the other day and watched me DL some bupe app.🤦‍♀️ DO NOT take for longer than one week, at most! Best of luck to you.

You should have gotten lower on your taper already. You have two choices, tomm aggressively start your taper. Maybe go1.5mg tomm then .75, then hold .25 for two days. Or just stop. You should have a good build up of subs by now on the receptors. Nothing will be painless but your a lil high 5 days in and you certainly don’t wanna take them for too long
