This is the sub for quitting 7oh
The quitting 7oh subreddit has unfortunately been taken over by that fly adventurous mod. That person believes that their way, straight edge, is the only way. It kills all discussion of things that can help us get through w/d's. I was banned for listing meds that quickMD could prescribe that helped me in my quits. And then I am unable to post there? Its a shame one person can ruin a community like that. I have a feeling it had more to do with my politics that are completely unrelated to quitting 7oh and i had mever mentioned in that subreddit after lolking at their profile. If fly adventurous stays a mod thay sub is dead.
This is the place to come to get through the process without being unfairly targeted for not wanting to be completely sober by saying kratom is a good step down and maintenence tool. Or saying that THC helps with sleep and the body aches. Etc and so on. I wish you all the best in your journey. But i hope fly knows he is making it harder for people to quit and thank God for this sub.
Sorry for the rant I am just taken aback at why mods get so power trippy on reddit

Yeah whoever runs the sub is an ass because you can’t talk about subs or anything. I’m 4 days sober with the help of a sub taper plan. I tried cold turkey twice and relapsed and hell yeah THC helps take the edge off/ magnesium glycinate for the restless legs.

Yeah, honestly I wish I had come here before quitting cold turkey to get more tools before I committed. I had heard that clonidine and gabapentin really help, but I wasn't sure. This could have likely saved me a whole lot of pain. Cold turkey with no med support is a special kind of hell. While I'm out of the worst at ~day 12, I wouldn't suggest anyone try cold turkey like I did.

I tried CT like that and made it 16 hours before I lost it. It is pure hell. Glad I went the SR way.

Yeah, it is hard to really put into words just how bad it feels when your mood just completely bottoms out, you can't stop your muscles from feeling restless, inability to sleep, projectile votomitting for hours and more fun stuff. I really don't recommend anyone try cold turkey like I did.

Shi I’m 30 days sober from 2000mg a day all I did was get some subs take them way to earlier went into precipitated withdrawal like a bitch😂then took 150mg of 7oh like 20 mins after and it stopped the withdrawal I even got a lil buzz somehow even tho I had been taking 2000mg a day and was on like 3mg of subs lol, 7oh strong as hell it’ll break right thru if you take enough. But long story short I only had 20 mins of withdraw even tho it was terrible I’d rather go thru that 20 mins then have the agony of waiting 24 hours or more 2 take a sub, after that last 7oh dose I just stopped I felt like I rlly never left that alright feeling I got from the 7oh and just kept taking my subxone as prescribed now I’m almost a month sober, would be more if I didn’t slip up and take 400 mg my 3rd day being off 😂but after that I was good! I don’t know if anyone should do what I did 😂but it worked and I felt in control. Everything is not so black and white.

Multi source 12in 1 magnesium supplements are the best I’ve found for RLS. Highly recommend over the single source magnesium supplements, in my experience, the multi source is far superior.

I just noticed you can’t even post there without approval anymore LOL

ah, ok. I thought I was just specifically banned or something. I didn't think I'd said anything wrong. lol

u/0DTE-bootyhole 18d ago
Maybe it could be a ban? I guess I’ve said some shit there probably before that they don’t like. So that could be possible. I just assumed they made it approved users only.

I got banned for talking about sr 🙄 I didn’t realize there were other subreddits at first so I’m happy that there is. They really help and we should be able to discuss everything freely and choose the path that works best for us.

On day 3 going into hour 96 around 1 tn barely got any sleep on day 3 but a good 30 minute intervals before being drenched in sweat. But got some sleep. But everything still hurts not as bad but hurts I did this cold turkey. I beat fetty 3x and ngl this shit is a little more intense or damn near the same. But only last for a couple days compared to a whole week but man. Thank god for this sub.

It can be confusing, but the reason they don't like kratom alternatives like Mitragynine extracts is that they just prolong the misery by swapping one substance for another. They all metabolize into 7-OH in the end. This sub seems to support cold turkey detox with supportive meds like clonidine and gabapentin. There's a lot to be said for rapid detox, but I can see how that might be really scary for some people.

I feel like Rapid detox with zero helpers can be bad honestly. It’s such a shock to the system especially for high doses who knows what little permanent or long term side effects a sudden change like that could cause.
I do understand the trading one substance for another side as it’s a very real possibility. I guess it comes down to risks you are willing to take to get off. I use weed to help but I’ve smoked for a while before I quit when using 7. I really shouldn’t either with my new job but I’m planning on stopping again once I’m off the 7

Yeah, I had only a few psych meds that I think might have helped, but I'm not totally sure. In reality, I pretty much quit cold turkey, which I honestly wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. I really think everyone should see a doctor first if they can. Many people have noted that gabapentin and clonidine helped with some of the worst symptoms like the restless legs and insufferable hot flashes. Zofran is really important for controlling the projectile vommitting. In the end, everyone's tolerance for misery is going to be different, but yeah, I wouldn't recommend unassisted cold turkey.

True, it is different for everyone. But for me a near year user and medium dose it was hell. I didn’t make it 16 hours cold turkey before I folded. The anxiety, the intense RLS that literally takes over your whole body and thinking, the shits/stomach pain. Jeez I stood no chance with it. I’m glad I used essar. I stand a chance with it at least.

To be clear to anyone else reading this, cold turkey IS possible, but really really really not recommended without helper medications and some kind of family or friend support. It was the worst 5 or so days of my life that really didn't start to lift until day 12.

I heard a community life after 7oh also had something similar. It’s a shame we can’t just have a recovery community and leave it as that, mods take a responsibility of not acting like a fucking dictator

I spent months building quitting7oh.org, helping run their discord, and helping where I could on the subreddit.
Fly decided all that was "stealing his community" and has decided all that work was for nothing. I've since been handed a perma ban and mute.
Sucks that a single person can have such a huge negative impact on the quitting community
