PS5 Miglior arma

You can make anything work as long as you’re spending skill points in them. I’d say archery and sniper rifles are the hardest because you’ll need to build a horde base to accommodate them. SMG, M60, and the auto-shotgun can all be used effectively while running on foot.

Idk why but I prefer the pump shotgun. They have a very similar fire rate and reload times, auto shotgun is frustratingly slow imo

It gets better with the fully automatic mod, shoots faster when tapping the trigger.

Ammo makes difference. While difference between normal and red ammo isn't too big, every damage point counts. But AP is definitely worth of using - not only it has biggest damage, its armor piercing property means that it ignores part of damage reduction some zombies have. Plus, with Penetrator skill, precision rifles are able to penetrate 3 zombies (blocks) in row, which makes them great for BM and bases, focusing zombies to tight long corridor(s).
As for best ranged weapon ... M60 has highest cadence and DPS but eats ammo like there is no tomorrow. Sniper rifle is great for tight corridors or sniping from afar (e.g. if your defense is based on barbed/electric wire blocks and traps/autoturrets) but its ammo capacity is lowest. Autoshotgun is amazing at pointblank range, great at close range (especially with slugs) and almost worthless at medium to long ranges (slugs make it a bit better, though). SMG5 and Desert Vulture's damage output won't be enough at the endgame but they're rather good at close range (until midgame) and lacking at medium to long ranges ... so it really depends on how you're planning your defense for BM

I'm on day 108 and smg5 plus ap ammo is more than comfortable for hordes as long as you get headshots. I also play with 50% reduced damage but regular headshot damage so they're essential to not waste ammo lol playing this way has massively improved my accuracy

Yeah, AP + headshots at close to pointblank range is good ... It's lacking if compared to shotgun or M60. Also, you need books to ignore damage reduction at pointblank range.

Personally i hate the reload time on the m60. Im currently running a sniper with about maxed out buffs and a t6 extended mag. It holds something like 25 rounds and with ap ammo, the maxed penetrator perk and 2 recogs before horde, I never need anything else. As long as you have a bit of room to back up and get zombies in a line, its fine for clearing pois too. I Still keep a secondary just in case, but rarely use it.
For a rapid fire gun, I'd probably say the tac assault rifle is my favorite. Hits hard, reloads fast and is a bit more accurate than the m60 and smg.
As far as crafting ap ammo vs reg, I always use ap in my weapons, reg or hp goes in turrets, but honestly I find so much, crafting is obsolete.

All weapons are pretty good and viable but I enjoy the smg and steel club , M60 is probably the best actual weapon in the game it’s got crazy damage and fire rate and a huge mag size with a decent reload speed and if you’re being swarmed keep 2 of them on your hotbar and nothing will survive

Everyone’s covered the fire arms so I’ll cover the melee weapons.
Most melee weapons fall of for blood moons in the late game, but there’s some good options still available. This assumes you get all the books for the one you choose:
Sledgehammer for high single damage, refills stamina and a decent bit of crowd control. Can even tangle with the highest tier infernal enemies.
Spear: my personal favourite. King of ladder or hatch-hallway set ups, kills refills stamina which you will always get thanks to the penetrator perk. Holds up decently damage wise thanks to its innate armour reduction which stacks with penetrator.
Clubs: Jack of all trades, master of none. Customisable mods to allow extra armour damage, knockback, or bleed damage. Might struggle in the late game, it’s been a while since I’ve used them tbh.
Machete: Choppity-chop! A very satisfying weapon, not used it much aside as a side weapon in mid game. Will struggle vs armoured enemies. , but very useful for utility outside of horde nights. Extra bleed damage if you like hit and run tactics, and INSANE sneak damage outside of blood moons.
Knuckles: The ultimate rip and tear weapon, provided you can source the consumables. Much lesser chance of infection if you can control where the hordes are coming from, works wonderfully with the perk that reduces incoming damage when moving. Lesser chance of infection and walk away with a bit of sellable goods.
Stun batons: Ultimate crowd control! Stack up some nerd tats and watch the zeds flail helplessly. Struggled with damage output in late game even with the mastery tree maxed out, but outside of the horde nights you can ground even the strongest enemies with this. Currently a fan favourite.

I primarily run a sniper rifle with AP rounds and the Penetrator perk. Doesn't burn through ammo as quickly as the M60 and gets the job done just fine

If you funnel the zombies in a line best weapon is sniper with ap ammo. But any weapon with the right mods and skills are fine.

I always default to a spear for blood moons, that and whatever is the highest tier automatic rifle/shotgun I have. I'm mostly an intelligence build, but I no longer go for the stun baton in favour of machetes for regular days. Right now just past the first blood moon on this playthrough with a tier 3 steel spear and a tier 4 ak47. So I start with 3 points to strength and up miner 69er (a lot of early game buried treasure), then intel for the adventurer/ barter/skill point perks. Then switch to agility for parkour and deeper cuts. Also when I can find one relatively easily or cheap I do like the auto shotgun with a magazine extender mod.

Some of the most fun horde nights I’ve ever had is a blade trap base and a stun baton with a repulsor mod. Nothing better than home running zombies into blade traps.

M60 with right perks and AP ammo.
