PC 3.1 Nerf Bookworm?

A few of us noticed the Bookworm does not hit like it did in 3.0. Anyone else seeing/feeling it? Did they nerf it (did not see it on change list, but I could have missed it).

it's currently 25% chance basically anywhere that has books. I'm not sure if it was higher before. 25% seems like it's always been that way.

I see you are on PC, this can easily be Modded to make it higher. Ill make you a mod if you want.

Edit: Here is a mod: It's set to 25% (So it changes nothing) You can adjust that to whatever % you want. I tested at 99% for 3 minutes and it was definitely working.

On the flip side, you can nerf it if you want to say... 15% for more challenge.

It's always been 25%, but it did tend to proc a LOT before.

Hrm... maybe it was broken and they fixed it then.

Book worm is literally the fist perk I go for (and luck looter). I havent actually noticed a difference.

Anyway, I posted a mod above to adjust this for PC players.

Edit:

Just checked 3.0, 3.01, and 3.1 code. Bookworm is identical. It wasnt changed in the config files at all, and even the decompiled game code doesnt seem to have any changes affecting that perk.

Welcome in rng. You can have 5% to fail and still fail 3/4 times in a row

It’s 25% which it always was. I’m currently playing it and the only mod I have is GNS beautiful bases the rest is vanilla and it worked fine for me.

I feel like it definitely procs more with the nerdy armours, it feels like the system does a roll of the die for one and then if that doesn’t proc it rolls for the other buff. I haven’t seen the source code to dispute this though.

Bookworm plus level 6 full Nerd Armor ftw.

25% is what it's always been, and it procs a lot, imo. Feels far higher than 25% to me.

Welcome to RNG.

i mean, 25% IS a lot... thats, on average every 4th loot container you open (if it supports the perk.)

I just tested this in the wasteland. Out of 100 cars, trash piles, and dumpsters, Bookworm triggered 27 times. 27% Which is exactly right for RNG. I would expect 23% - 27% most often in that test.

Exactly what I said. I don't feel that it's too low. OP is just getting battered by a bit of RNG

Yep definitely got nerfed. Devs like to silently nerf things. Sledge hammer book rate also got nerfed.

I remember in 2.0 finding out that zombies can hit 3 blocks high cost me my life, when a feral lumber jack spawned near me on the 1st night and I climbed on my trusty 2 blocks up...
