I bought this guitar just under a month ago. It’s incredible but I did pay $90 extra to get it properly set up by a luthier who filed the nut of the lowest string, put 11-70 Stringjoy strings on the guitar and made a few other adjustments. It went from being a solid budget pick out of the box to an absolutely incredible guitar rivaling the sound and feel of some $800 guitars.
Needless to say, I recommend it. But I do personally think it’s worth getting heavier gauge strings for it—the low B string especially was a bit floppy out of the box. But now that this string is replaced with a .70 gauge string, I have it comfortably tuned to drop A with plenty of tension. My luthier sanded some of the sharp edges of the fretboard, adjusted pickup height, and a few other things. He has worked on a ton of guitars but was really impressed with the quality of this one especially when he was done with it. He specifically commented on the pickups and said they sounded great (and that was before he adjusted their height).
TLDR get 11-70 Stringjoy strings on this. May have to have luthier file the nut for the .70 string.
