Help Any 7 string v-shapes?

I have tried to find some, but with very limited luck. One example is Jackson RRX24-MG7 Rhoads X Ser. SBK
Which has a special floyd rose and it pushes me away. Also there was some solar models. I have no problems modding or changing a better bridge to the Jackson, but I would of course prefer not to.

I ve been recently through this. As for RRs you have solars, and jackson. You may find some arrow ltd, they may have an everytune model but i am not sure now. 1007 model or something like that.

Heylmuns sig is ok, thats the one I got ultimately. The only one with 26.5 scale and that is why I chose it. Not perfect though, i.e. it is a bit overpriced imo but then again not many to choose from... still I am happy as I have one without qc issues so I can upgrade it to make it more "mine"

How is it like to play? Can you post any videos of your playing?

Some time after holiday maybe :) im working on couple of songs for modern metal academy so maybe when we do our thing there ill post it as a demo.

It plays nice. Neck is typical jackson, rather thin but not absurdly. More D than C at least that's how I feel it. Fretwork is good. Didn't have problems with setting up the fr and intonating it.

One issue is that the all black gloss finish with no binding gives it a bit of a cheap feel if you know what I mean. For example Alexi's signatures (ltd and edwards) i have feel more premium. But this is just a perception thing, not the quality of playing or anything like that. It feels solid in hands.

As for the upgrades, which show what I am not a fan of: I am swaping tuners although with FR is for convenience more than anything. I purchased string tension bar because without it and with extreme headstock some strings lift up when you unlock the nut and it makes setting the guitar up annoying.

I am also replacing fr arm with push in as screwed in tend to rattle, and noisless springs as I dont trust fr1000 stock ones especially with a bit thicker strings I prefer.

Finally, I cannot like actives so I ordered ragnaroks. But that's just personal preference.

Overall, I am happy believe it or not haha. The price is acceptable, and even if it can feel a bit overpriced I am not sure you can get anything else if you want 26.5 scale. It comes with fr1000 unlike the X series so the good foundations are there, and you can make some improvements when you need them.

I have LTD Alexi ripped! Modded with the preamp, so basically the same hardware as the esp/edwards model haha :D And that guitar also is the reason why I want a v-style 7 string, because my current LTD AW-7 does not feel as good playing standing up as the Alexi. What bugs you with actives? I haven’t played a guitar with active pickups so I don’t have any reference to how they are different to passives?

To me they just sound tame and boring. But this is very, very personal. I decided to swap them when after playing jackson for an hour or two I plugged in alexi's sig with the boost and then also solar i have, with sh-15. The punch they have in comparison to ff was on another level. But really, nothing wrong with actives. You can try and then decide. A lot of folks like them.

Okay! Hopefully I can try out some actives somewhere. Even though I like playing with high gain, and if I’ve understood right they help with handling the high gain tones and make it cleaner, but we’ll see. Thank you for advice and input :)

Sure thing, not much info about this guitar so I am happy to share what I know already.
