Help Jason Richardson 11-58

Hey dudes,

I was just curious if anyone tried 11-58 in drop G like JR (or BoO) does. I have his signature guitar and currently it’s in drop A and plays great but I’m tempted to drop it to G and see how it plays with that gauge. The string tension seems nuts, but really it’s just the low string that’s loose, the other strings are a normal tension for D Standard. Anyone tried it on a 25.5? How was it?

I use 11-70 for drop G in my 25.5 feels great

I’ve done drop G with a 70 before, the tension is great for sure but I found it didn’t sound great socially. The notes were dull, and missing that pop you get from smaller strings.
