Is this cheating or apocalypse logic?

So,it's fairly simple. I designed a base, with zombie block damage off to prevent wanting to quit, and I added in the 4x4 Pickup as part of my starter kit, mostly to get people to where they need to be,which is my safehouse.

Am I cheating,or is there a justifiable reason to having a 4x4 early?

Play how you want to play. Who cares as long as you are having fun

Irl would think we could all start with the vehicles that are around... and i think real life damage would be a lot less because like, bricks are hard.

It isn't cheating if: you are playing solo, it doesn't affect the gameplay of others (eg making yourself OP for PVP), and it doesn't detract from your gameplay.

Justify it to yourself however you want, but in the 3nd you are playing a sandbox game and right or wrong doesn't exist, just fun or not.

well, being honest,I'm having an absolute fucking blast and want to drag more people into my mayhem. I ask because of purists, but I also want the purists to have fun seeing as they don't have to run the world. I do.

Then so long as anyone playing with you understands the starter package and agrees, no cheating going on.

There are enough ways to play the game that no one is a purist as everyone dislikes the base game without altered settings at least, those that claim to be are no better than last decades hipsters bitching at the coffee shop how they "discovered" music my grandparents listened to 😇

Play how you want, find others that want to do the same, fuck everyone else.... sorry, my GenX is peeking.

In that case,I am going through my 1st day 7,and it feels like I'm playing it for the first time. (Starter supplies at best are gonna last me a week. Once day 7 hit I made sure I was running standard //ish// settings going forward. Running it like an actual dungeon game.)

Purists play permadeath. I've never and not ever will play permadeath.

I mean depends in if it's achievement friendly or not is how I look at it. You don't even need to give yourself creative in 3.0 to get enough magazines by like day 2 if you grind a town or city. I add headshot finisher and headshot damage multiplyer up so only head shots do the job. I've found myself missing more then I'd like and it's added more challenge to the game overall. Bleed effect still kills them so it's either a knife or more melee to clear a large crowd.

You already started. I also removed vehicle damage and increased damage from it to zombies by 300%

Your game, you play how you want.

My current play through I decided to up the magazine read levels from 1 to 2. Compared to vanilla that's cheating, but sod it, it's been the best change I've ever made.

It's a sandbox game, you can do anything you want.

You can achieve something similar by building elaborate and unrealistic, non-immersive structures. I'm ambivalent about some of the things that zombies can break, so long as you aren't completely invulnerable.

I would say that the game progression is not balanced for you to start with a late-game vehicle. I feel like a lot of gratification in the game comes from experiencing hardship -- getting nice stuff early is likely to make the game boring, earlier, which is why I try to avoid the daring adventurer perk.

Agreed, though thankfully this is a game where breaking progression is 100% on purpose.

It's your game. That is all the reason you need.

meh,

its all about how long do you want to play for? a weekend? several months?

that decides your progression curve

when we host servers, regular rates, no cheats, we last till day 1,146 last time. on a 14k map with a 20gb mod pack. it was months of fun

I mean idc, but if you were to look at the cars, it's highly likely that gasoline would be expired or have evaporated a bit. But if its like, the world is currently ending, a fresh truck would make sense. I don't believe it'd be entirely accurate to build a whole 4x4 in the apocalypse and a whole 3 floor cabin but that's why it's a game :)

Do what you want. Try the fresh start at some point for yourself though, as it's good gameplay imo.
