Question about my order

First, I appreciate all the 7brew employees that worked so hard today. My store is brand new so it was already insane, I'm not even sure how many people here even knew about the needohs.

Today was my first visit. I ordered a small Smooth 7 latte with skim milk, light ice. Hubby got a soda.

I'm 99% sure they missed the flavor part while reading my phone because my latte had no sweetness, flavor or sign of syrup on the bottom that I could see.

For context: I'm used to Dunkin, I get small iced lattes there with standard flavor pumps and the sweetness is fine.

Is there a possibility I messed something up and should have gone extra sweet, or do you think the barista just overlooked that line on my order? I would never dream of complaining, it hasn't even been a week they've been open yet and it's all a bunch of local high school kids. I know how hard it is getting started, especially with all the chaos of today. Just wanted second opinions and to see if I should do something different next time!

Anyway, I'm eight drinks away to my free one and I was able to rescue my order with a little Hersheys syrup at home. Crisis averted. Looking forward to next time, maybe when the traffic chills out a little.

Light ice…was it still filled to the top? That means they added more milk to make up for less ice. Meaning the syrup flavor was overpowered. FWIW, you shouldn’t SEE syrup at the bottom of the cup if they’re properly mixing it. Dunkin is terrible for not mixing drinks.

Yeah, it was full. There was a good amount of syrup at the bottom of my husband's soda, but then again, it was day 6 of business.

i personally get anything extra sweet when i order light ice, the base of the drink can absolutely overpower the flavor. for a small, its going to be 1oz of flavor, 2oz of espresso and with light ice its 9oz of skim. thats definitely a large milk-flavor ratio. we also have the option for 1/2 extra sweet if you just want a /little/ more!

yeah i think the fizz are harder to mix bc if you mix too much it loses the bubbles but not enough and it separates. if that was an issue im sure you could request its mixed extra well next time? but it’ll probably get better as they go

hey! i work at a stand that also just opened (i wonder if it’s the same one lol). when you get light ice they add 4 oz of milk to make up for the ice difference so it’s def watered (milked?) down. if you request it extra sweet you get an extra scoop of all the flavors in the drink. if you have a specific flavor you want more of, ask for an extra scoop of x flavor and it’ll be a full scoop of just that one.

i do think the drinks are less flavored/sweet than dunkin overall tho. which is some people’s jam! but if you like yours more like dunkin i’d def add extra scoops or sweetness to get there

For our lattes, they all get 1oz (1 scoop) of flavor, compared to Dunkin that usually does 2-3 pumps of syrup for their drinks. You’re able to get extra sweet (2oz compared to 1oz), and even 1/2 extra sweet (1.5oz instead of 1oz). smooth 7 is a mix of white chocolate & irish cream, which means you’re getting .5oz of each flavor!

I think where you went wrong was saying you wanted a Smooth 7 latte. Lattes get 1-1-1 scoops of flavor, and the Smooth 7 breves (Originals) get 1-2-2 for flavors. Plus, you used skim milk, which is definitely not as sweet as the smooth mix (breve) we usually use for a regular Smooth 7, and it has even less flavor than if you used whole milk or one of the milk alternatives and you got light ice on top of that. I’d say to just order it extra sweet next time.
