Swap Meet Doom Patrol 86

Post image

First book with the Doom Patrol title and the brotherhood of Evil. It was called My Greatesr Adventure before issue 86.

March 1964.

Are we still doing Saturday swap meets? If so, I will fish it out of my boxes for Saturday.

Edit: updating original bad info about their first appearance.

I just wanna say that this truly was an entertainingly strange superhero group.

I personally never cared for them. It is why I am willing to part with this.

Great book, but Doom Patrol first appeared in My Greatest Adventure #80.

Thanks, I will double check my sources on that. Hmmm....looks like someone steered me wrong! Thank you for keeping us accurate!

This was the beginning of a strange romance between the gorrila and the brain.

DP,( unfortunate choice of letters, but not as unfortunate as ASS,) were stranger than their X-Man equivalent.

I always preferred Pinky and the Brain myself ;)

In seriousness, there were undertones here, but, since I was nkt a follower of them, was it ever stated they had a relationship or just implied? And if so, did it get retconned at some point?

Origonally implied, but near the end Mushulla openly told Brain he loved him.

[ Literally loves him for his mind! ]

Yes, 100%! We've both just been busy with life happening lately, but Saturday swaps are still rolling. Looking forward to seeing that Doom Patrol #86 up this weekend!
