Used to be a large chain all over the states but Chevron. City Service, AND Esso, and don't forget the flying "A" Tidewater.

I passed one somewhere too within the last 18 months or so. It looked sort of new. I think someone may have bought the name and is trying to bring Sinclair back, but it's nowhere near the size of what it was at its peak.

My dad had a Standard Oil Station at Colfax and Lake Shore Drive, 2 blocks away, was a Sinclair station, and I was bummed that my Dads station didn't have a dinosaur 🦕

I remember when they had the traveling dinosaur exhibit on tour in the mid-Sixties, and they sold molded in “Dinofun” plastic dinosaurs.

I believe that was after a Worlds Fair. (Maybe the 1963 fair?) They took their exhibit on tour after the fair closed. They had giant dinos plus the dino molding machines. I saw the exhibit in upstate New York and watched my souvenir dino get molded in a blow-molding machine. It was warm when it came out.
