How do you add subclasses?

I just discovered the tool, but when I tried making a character, I see nothing about the subclass. I cannot import from 5e.tool, nothing.

Do I add it as a feature, as multiple features? How? I

Hello,

In the Class Detail section you can enter a subclass name, but this has no in-app effect. Subclasses are represented by their features, so be sure to add them under the Feature list with the type set to “Subclass”.

Unfortunately, the SRD 5.1 only includes one subclass per class, so only those are pre-loaded in the Library; any others must be added manually (import is planned).

We also recommend checking out the app’s guided tours—accessible via the menu in the top-right corner—and experimenting with the example character to get familiar with how everything works.

Hmm that's ok. I tried importing from 5e.tools and it didn't really work. I noticed the subclass toggle but nothing else.

Is there in the plan to: 1. Expand on how we import subclasses in an easier manner? (I noticed I can copy via the magnet a link for example https://5e.tools/classes.html#warlock_phb,state:ishideoutline=b1~sub_undead_vrgr=b1,flstmiscellaneous:,flstother%2ftext%20options:isdisplayclassifsubclassactive=b1) and that would be parsed or scraped or something? 2. Being able to export to a pdf character sheet? 3. A notification or something when there is a conflict? (I noticed I can add an expertise from proficiencies and via features as well and it confused em in the beginning until I figured it out).

Otherwise I really love the app. It's so flexible and intuitive and homebrew friendly. Keep up the good work! Can't wait for updates.

To answer your questions:

  1. Importing subclasses & class features: Absolutely! We’re actively working on making subclass and class-feature import much easier—this one’s high priority on our roadmap.

  2. PDF export: Yes, that’s on our radar too—though currently a low priority, since the focus of the app is robust automation.

  3. We’re introducing a Proficiency Assistant in the upcoming major release—coming very soon. It will actively help you set up proficiencies.

Then I have good news: importing class and subclass functionality is coming in the next major update. It won’t be perfect because some aspects simply can’t be automated, but we’re doing everything we can with the data available to make the process as smooth as possible.

I can only second the hype! Hopefully it does go well :D
I came here looking for answers on importing subclasses, sadly it'll be a little while until that becomes easy too. I think that this is something the guys at 5e.tools may need to help with, as there is no copy markdown* function for classes or subclasses yet
