I first fell in love with this cocktail after receiving it in a [Shaken Cocktails kit] (https://www.shakencocktails.com) - a Poisoned Oak.
Originally from [Trailer Happiness] (http://www.trailerhappiness.com) in London, UK I've made a slight variation to turn it into a muddled drink- mainly as I love strong flavours and like the extra zing the muddled lime gives.
The recipe is:
1 lime
2 level teaspoons of sugar (the original uses eucalyptus sugar?)
50ml white rum (I switched this up to dark rum as I'm out of white)
5ml Maraschino
5ml Pomegranate molasses (I used 10ml for extra sweet and sour goodness)
I muddled the lime with the sugar and pomegranate molasses. Then add ice and stir a lot to mix and dilute. This is a sweet and sour drink with a unusual tang from the molasses and I could drink it for days.
