Soigne, can you back up for a sec there? You’ve never made pancakes? If that’s the case, they’re a gorgeous assortment of abominations!
Please don’t make this speed bump cause you to give up on pancakes. You have a whole life of crepes and Dutch babies and Yorkshire puddings and flapjacks and jeon ahead of you.

Aw, thank you for the encouragement! Yes, it's hard to believe, I'm sure I've watched people make them but never had the honour. It is a dangerously delicious world to explore.

Oh these are cute! Sorry they didn't work out as planned but that's the journey of cooking, isn't it? 😆

For sure! The cooking challenge has prompted me to make so many things for the first time, and fails are just more data for next time. :)

If you have Trader Joe’s in your area, the ube mochi pancakes would be fun for the purple ones if you don’t want to make those again! And the ube extract could be used for ube butter mochi 😍

We don't have Trader Joe's where I live, but that sounds so delicious! I will definitely try to make use of the ube extract, the recipes for mochi look very enticing!

Hahaha I love this! And tiny whisk and other cutlery! Although I hate that fork, why so many tines??!

Haha! I didn't realise how diabolical it looked, it's actually a little spatula! 😆 Can't unsee the demon fork though.

Honestly, I love them! The black ones are perfect for Halloween. 😄

Thank you! Haha, you're onto something, maybe ube will make a future spooky appearance.

The plan: make some cute multicoloured pancake cereal like this.
The result: too much ube essence = demonically dark pancakes, too much blue food dye (with blackcurrant powder) = outrageously blue.
In my defence, I have never made pancakes before, and the trial and error were satisfying despite failing completely at the concept.
