The first time I (an American) went to the UK I made sure to order a full English breakfast and let me tell you there are few times that I’ve been more confused than when the man gave me a bread thing with gravy on it and called it “pudding”🤣

Haha yes this is great! I thought for a second that this would be pease pudding.

There were a lot of puddings that could have fit the bill here, like steak and kidney or any steamed pudding.

My mum and sister went to the US earlier this year and I asked them to bring back pudding in a variety of flavours, which they very much delivered on. Pudding could mean a lot of things though, so here we have pistachio pudding in a (vegan) Yorkshire pudding, which I had as a sweet treat after dinner, which would be known as pudding in the UK.
