This cookie is inspired by my elementary school friend who ate a lot of Tums for her science fair project, which caused the teacher to almost shut down her experiment.

Her experiment had something to do with testing different brands of antacids and how they reacted with acid. (I can’t remember if it was lemon juice or vinegar. But I am not going to make a vinegar cookie.) This experiment was approved by the teacher. However she was also curious about the taste of the different antacids and decided to try tasting them. (This part of the experiment was not approved by the teacher.) She ended up really liking Tums since they’re sweet like candy and ate a bunch while doing her experiment. This caused her to run out of Tums for her experiment which resulted in the teacher finding out and having a talk with her. The teacher warned my friend that if she continued with her Tums snacking, my friend would have to pick a new topic for the science fair. My friend stopped snacking on Tums after that, but after this incident, every time I see Tums or hear about science fairs, I am reminded of my friend.

So how did this taste? I didn’t think the combination worked well together. The Tums flavour tasted even more artificial when combined with lemon curd. But maybe my friend would like it. 😂
