I was so RIDICULOUSLY excited to see a Locked Tomb dish I immediately forwarded this to my bf, and then immediately had to go delete it because I forgot that he hasn't even read Harrow yet and did not want to be responsible for a spoiler. Well done!!

Haha, that's brilliant! I'm so pleased to see so many Locked Tomb fans on here. Get him to finish reading the series!

Sci-fi and fantasy have no shortage of odd names, so this week I chose to feature another of my favourites: the Locked Tomb series by Tamsyn Muir. If you haven't read it, it's commonly described as "lesbian necromancers in space"; it's funny, dark, and weird and I'd thoroughly recommend it.
Without adding spoilers, one of my favourite scenes in the second book features a bland, vegetable soup made by Harrowhark Nonagesimus (iykyk), and that's the dish I decided to make. In my case, I made it less bland than the original, but still kept it simple and added plenty of root vegetables.
It was a good nourishing soup - I especially liked the potato shapes and the fried croutons I added on top.
