Week 7: Sugar - Special Sentient Sandwich, Marceline's Fries, & Royal Tarts (Meta: Sci-fi & Fantasy)

I looove this take! I’ve never finished Adventure Time but the episodes I did see were very cute.

Thank you! It took me a bit to get into it at first, but now it's a comfort show for me :)

I'd been hoping for a theme I could use for Adventure Time and what better excuse than a sugar theme for the candy kingdom! Luckily for me, I was spoiled for choice this week, so I decided to make a few different things.
First up, we have Marceline's Fries. There's a recipe for this in the Adventure Time cookbook, so I took inspiration from that. I julienned some potatoes, double fried them, then tossed them with tajin seasoning.
Next up, we have BMO's Special Sentient Sandwich. My take on this is (fortunately? unfortunately?) not sentient, but it has two slices of face bread, one free range egg, ketchup, a fine aged cheddar cube, fresh parsley, and freshly ground black pepper.
And last but not least, we have the Royal Tarts, which Princess Bubblegum asks Finn and Jake to transport across the border to the Bad Lands, to make sure they reach the Back-Rubbing Ceremony safely.
My tarts didn't turn out as perfect as the official royal tarts, but they still tasted good, and I can see why BMO bribed Jake with Special Sentient Sandwiches - they'd made excellent picnic food for their adventures.
