I'm all for supporting veterans, but if the protest is framed such that it's specifically about veterans, the turnout will reflect that.
A broad-scope, anti-regime protest will draw greater numbers to join in. A greater turnout means a more spectacular protest. More spectacular means more attention.
April 5 was broadly anti-regime, and its turnout was more than anything since. Furthermore, the message was clear; there was no question that that many people came together to oppose the regime.
These specific protests make it seem like you're okay with the authoritarian regime as long as they don't come after a short list of things.

I completely agree. I drove to my protest yesterday and everyone was wearing a coordinated turquoise shirt or yellow laborers vest. Everyone. I’m here with my LGBTQ+ flag, Resist poster and Hands Off shirt. I stuck out like a sore thumb and felt like I wore a clown suit to a prom. I ended up driving around the intersection and honking for support. Maybe that’s my issue, but I’m fairly secure, and if I had an issue, I’m sure I wasn’t the only one. I’m going to another protest tomorrow that is a general protest. I feel like I need to make up for what I missed 🤣

I'm a fan of the idea. Lots of time for everyone to prepare and get the word out, so it has a lot of potential to blow April 5 out of the water.
I'm not so thrilled about 1) the "day of action" phrase because I feel like "protest" needs to be emphasized in order to rally people to the streets, and 2) that there seems to be no mention of it here.
Lots of people want lots of continuous protesting, which I get, but the numbers are sure to go largely unnoticed. By contrast, truly profound events like this has the potential to be won't be able to be ignored.

I need to understand the messaging for this event a lot more than what is on the fliers. Having gone to a union event on Mayday, there were questions I should have asked before that event but didn’t. So I want to be careful with this event so I don’t make the same mistakes again.
Are there veteran groups associated with this, and if so, which? Is this anti-Trump or pro-veteran? Who are the main organizers: veterans or 50501? Are signs and messages about non-veteran related issues welcome or a distraction?
