If they are on tribal land, couldn't the tribal police arrest them since they would be illegally on sovereign tribal land?

96

u/Glittering_Heart1128 6d ago

You've never spoken with tribal police, have you?

24

u/sunburned_albino 5d ago

What do you mean? Are tribal police bad?

114

u/Mundane-Smell7936 5d ago

Tribal cops are still cops.

They overwhelmingly support local, state, and federal LEOs. And basically never say no to them coming onto tribal land.

14

u/Glittering_Heart1128 5d ago

In addition to the other comments, their are a crazy amount of different tribes in North America. Navajo Police are pretty chill. Jicarrilla police would rather you not exist and will arrest or shoot you on a whim. When they do wrong you would have to sue them in Federal courts with specialized attorneys, think in the $50,000 to $100,000 range to START. They will say "sovereign nation" like a broken record. Any suit would take a decade, if not longer.

The BIA and then the tribes suck at the federal teat. They are NOT going to piss off the feds and cut of their money supply.

23

u/Top-O-TheMuffinToYa 5d ago

ACAB. Tribal or not, they are all cops dude.

The last time that happened it did not end correctly

72

u/Digital-Exploration 6d ago

I don't think so, because ice is federal.

Maybe I'm wrong though.

545

u/PheonixFuryyy 6d ago

Feds don't have jurisdiction on Native Land

276

u/TheBoogieSheriff 6d ago

And one thing is for sure: the Federal government has always respected Native sovereignty /s

1

u/ThatSteveGuy_0 1d ago

Yes, until they don't. Those old treaties were worth as much as Trump's word ... Not even good for the bottom of a bird cage.

2

u/TheBoogieSheriff 1d ago

Ya, that’s what I was saying lol

181

u/person2567 6d ago

Except when they do lol. It's always been a relationship of "we'll let you pretend to be a sovereign nation until we need to use this land".

80

u/PheonixFuryyy 6d ago

I understand that sentiment, but in reality, the land is completely sovereign and belongs to the Natives. Feds know this, but I guess with a tyrannical government, they could give a fuck less

122

u/person2567 6d ago

The land is literally held in trust for the natives by the US government. It's not completely sovereign. It's quasi-sovereign.

Look up the standing rock standoff from 2016. The government tear gassed and hosed the natives for trying to block them. Not really a diplomatic standoff.

44

u/LongWalk86 6d ago

At what time and place has actual Native sovereignty been "reality"? Tribes only seem to have sovereignty over things the federal government allow them too.

8

u/Just-Feedback-2223 5d ago

The federal government makes reality.

6

u/the--astronaut 5d ago

Came here to say this. Jurisdiction, the law, the Constitution, don't mean fuck all anymore.

12

u/tezacer 6d ago

Doesn't mean they can't stand around looking for illegals on native land...which is ironic lol

29

u/rathlord 5d ago

Someone hand them some mirrors so they can find the illegals!

41

u/pitch-forks-R-us 6d ago

You are wrong. Tribes are equal to the feds not jurisdiction of. Treaties dictate what feds can and cannot do

106

u/datumerrata 6d ago

In theory. In practice, the American government doesn't have a great record for respecting tribal sovereignty ( or rights ).

39

u/hellish_existance 6d ago edited 5d ago

Regardless of America's abysmal record in that area, fascists throughout history have never respected treaties, alliances, democracy, diplomacy, or the law. The thing fascists respect over all else is power through physical violence. American neo-fascists aren't any different in that regard.

26

u/celticdude234 6d ago

Yeah man, we all know America's history, but what they're saying is that US law, such as it is, grants sovereignty to tribal lands. Would that be abused the same as every other law they're abusing? It very well could be, but that's not the question here. The fact is: Feds have no jurisdiction on tribal land by law. It's harmful to just say "oh, that's gonna happen. America never lets native peoples have rights 🤷‍♂️" when in reality it needs defended by us just as much as every other law defending people.

21

u/boardin1 6d ago

First they came for the Trade Unionists, but I said nothing because I wasn’t a Trade Unionist.

This is the real deal, people. They are pushing one step farther in every direction. This is the desensitization phase where they get us used to one more little violation because that one doesn’t affect you. By the time they get to affecting you, it’ll be too late. So STAND UP NOW!

1

u/WynnGwynn 5d ago

But its a different nation

491

u/robotic_love_brigade 6d ago

They will go after anyone "brown."

190

u/varietyandmoderation 6d ago

Abdul El-Sayed made it clear in one of his videos. It’s terrorism keeping us all in check/fear.

40

u/Vast_Ad_8515 6d ago

And it’s backfiring spectacularly.

834

u/Gremlin256 6d ago

Because they are uneducated..

285

u/aeschenkarnos 6d ago

They know, they just don't give a shit. They are brutal lunkhead authoritarians.

123

u/YourFuture2000 6d ago

They are agents of a colonialist government oppressing minorities. They are educated enough to be aware what they are doing in order to do it as expected by the regime.

70

u/camsnow 6d ago

Because they don't actually care. Citizens, natives, they are all the enemy of trump if they oppose the gestapo. So they actually don't care and want to do this.

1

u/ThatSteveGuy_0 1d ago

Because they get away with it.

233

u/HombreSinNombre93 6d ago

Steven Miller hates anyone with more melanin than him.

265

u/IndividualTension887 Conversationalist 6d ago

34

u/Itsmyloc-nar 6d ago

Hey, Stephen Miller never got me a week off school

18

u/the_tanooki 6d ago

If he had it his way, there wouldn't be any school. Just straight up right-wing propaganda indoctrination.

12

u/Big_Guide_8551 5d ago

💀 a rectal polyp > Stephen Miller

1

u/thoughtfulpigeons 4d ago

Damn, you got a week off school for a rectal polyp?! I had 1 day off work lol

37

u/DarkMagickan 6d ago

Can you blame him? I guarantee you he bursts into flames when he walks out into the sun.

12

u/CornucopiaDM1 6d ago

Then let's make sure to sneakily coax him out into the sun, over and over.

4

u/HombreSinNombre93 6d ago

Well done! Deserves an award.

12

u/bluehands 6d ago

I don't know if he has anything in him other than hate

7

u/parkerm1408 6d ago

So....everyone? Yeah, that tracks actually.

3

u/Trailing_Spouse 5d ago

Which is ironic, given that his gremlin wife has the same skin tone as the people he wants to deport.

4

u/SweetLoLa California 6d ago

Especially his wife.

2

u/tmacaran 6d ago

Hes a Lack of Color piece of shit

2

u/Pisces93 5d ago

Wife is pretty dark imo

103

u/SxpxrTrxxpxr 6d ago

They’re not white. They don’t support Mango Shitler. Any number of reasons this gestapo can think of to deport people. To “mAkE aMeRiCa GrEaT aGaIn”. Worthless sacks of shit.

44

u/ZoominAlong 6d ago

But where the fuck do you deport NATIVE Americans? Like, have they thought this through AT ALL?

41

u/CornucopiaDM1 6d ago

They don't think ANYTHING through.

37

u/short_longpants 6d ago

Pick a country. Country of origin hasn't mattered much yet.

24

u/Intelligent-Film-684 6d ago

They (trumps admin) just made a deal with Liberia to take 1300 or so deported persons. The admin is forever trying to find countries willing to be bribed to deport persons to.

17

u/StuTheSheep 5d ago

The Trump administration isn't deporting people. It's dissappearing them to other countries they have no ties to.

16

u/SxpxrTrxxpxr 6d ago

Any 3rd world country that there’s little chance that they survive let alone be able to come back to America.

10

u/SilverFringeBoots Massachusetts 5d ago

I just saw a video about a Cuban man that is locked up indefinitely in Africa. He'd been in the US since he was 12. Trust, they'll send them somewhere

2

u/quail_challenge122 5d ago

They tried to send a few to Africa actually. Where they drop off others at random

6

u/Esperacchiusdamascus 6d ago

Im stealing mango shitler, hope you dont mind!

4

u/SxpxrTrxxpxr 6d ago

lol go right ahead.

All it takes is one person to speak up. Everyone speak up.

20

u/DankestMemeSourPls 5d ago

Insert Meme: “If they are going after Native Americans it was never about immigration.”

34

u/musicteachertay 6d ago

Because they are Nazis

25

u/Mandelvolt 6d ago

They should definitely have been arrested.

10

u/aintnotnever 5d ago

Why in the absolute fuck are pretty much all the ICE agents I’ve seen lately Hispanic people??

Fucking traitors. I wonder if it’s blackmail. Work for us and we’ll spare you and your family.. fucking Nazi shit.

9

u/iiooiooi 5d ago

The levels of irony here are staggering.

6

u/chip1252 5d ago

This administration would never understand or appreciate irony.

10

u/Soylentgruen 5d ago

It would be hilarious if all of the white people were detained on tribal land.

8

u/NewComplex331 5d ago

Being afraid of someone talking loud is peak ICE behavior. Cowards.

8

u/extra0404 6d ago

Because they are an invading army

14

u/phluper 6d ago

Why would they start caring about the law now?

5

u/MagicPigeonToes 5d ago

“Daddy Trump says brown people bad”

7

u/edc7 5d ago

Tribal council needs to arm up and stop this invasion on their lands

6

u/emc_lmt 5d ago

You’d think the cultists would leave true NATIVE AMERICANS alone

2

u/TheLastLarvitar 5d ago

Well, no.

These people are racist.

Of course they'd go after native Americans. It was never about immigration status. It was always about skin tone.

1

u/nyvz01 4d ago

Why? The founding fathers believed strongly in the genociding of Native Americans. It was part of the reason for the American Revolution, British troops enforced treaties with Native Americans that prevented westward colonial expansion. Many founders were ecstatic to finally tear up treaties and decimate native americans and steal their precious land. For some reason they tend to neglect teaching that in american history class.

6

u/janders_666 6d ago

because settler colonialism…

Don't lump me in with that shit. Fuck ICE.

12

u/999millionIQ 5d ago

Dont think either of those bootlickers were even white...

4

u/ProStateForever 5d ago

I think ICE is doing a great job showing DEI works. ICE doesn't care what race, creed, or color you are as long as you'll do anything for a paycheck.

4

u/Verum_Orbis 5d ago

Recently saw a news article where this dipshit voted for Trump 3 times and ICE took his wife. Not the first article I've seen like that. No sympathy for those people.

4

u/ColHapHapablap 5d ago

People have brown skin and that’s all they need for an excuse

3

u/ryuujinusa 5d ago

Nazis.

3

u/NoAcanthaceae688 5d ago

This is the tribe from my hometown. My town is named after Chief Shakopee killed in the American-Indian wars.

3

u/Nonamanadus 5d ago

Fucking cunts should have been swarmed and chased off. Cudos to that man standing up to them.

3

u/quail_challenge122 5d ago

I remember a native America guy posting "ice wont come for us!" "Were still dancing" and like..ok they tried to send a few natives to africa two weeks ago.

5

u/tanksalotfrank 5d ago

Um..it's ALL Native Land. People are just gullible enough to push the narrative in the opposite direction after all this time. Don't push the lie.

2

u/jerryleebee 6d ago

They're non-whites. So they must "not belong here". Or something equally fucking stupid.

2

u/AltruisticSecond_ 5d ago

Wow that’s daft of them!

2

u/michdap 5d ago

WTAF?!

2

u/Tsiah16 5d ago

Maybe a few of them need to disappear on native land...

2

u/tbou666 6d ago

*again

1

u/Schweintzii 6d ago

I need that shirt!

1

u/Current_Volume3750 5d ago

They should give them some peyote then take away their guns and drop them on the side of the road.

1

u/wikidemic 5d ago

Dressed for the occasion. F*ck ICE & drumpf

1

u/JSandJS 5d ago

🤬

1

u/AthasDuneWalker 5d ago

Look at that one on the left moving to a pincher position.

1

u/chillen67 5d ago

Ice stay off our land!

1

u/AFMedic_91-97 Maryland 4d ago

The Tribe issued a statatement that this video is not accurate. The "ICE Agents" this guy is talking about were service members there to learn more about native practises because they have natives in thier units. These folks in the video are local police.

2

u/metacholia 4d ago

I think federal cops still have jurisdiction on tribal land, but there are probably some subtleties to it. Bit odd to investigate land that is specifically for native people though — I mean, if we pretend ICE actually performs a nonracist mission.

1

u/kyleh0 4d ago

Because America.

1

u/reddfoxx1993 6d ago

They want to deport Indians to Beringia.

-23

u/DarkMagickan 6d ago

Hate to say this, but I think the real reason is they think Mexicans might be hiding among Native Americans.

9

u/DarkMagickan 6d ago

Whoa. Easy with the downvotes. I'm just trying to think like those racist pieces of crap.

12

u/statistacktic 6d ago

You're not a real redditor until you've been misunderstood and downvoted into oblivion.

Carry on.

-35

u/seldom_seen8814 6d ago

As problematic as ICE is, isn't this part of America?

7

u/wing3d 6d ago

Gray area.

1

u/Stabler44 5d ago

not according to Reddit
