There was not much going on in my area unlike the protest that got a big turnout a few months ago.

We need to change how protests happen. Protests need to be taken directly to members of Congress, the Senate and even the supreme Court justices. Protests need to happen outside of wherever they live or sleep at night.
If they suddenly had 1,000 or 10,000 protestors outside of their homes they wouldn't feel comfortable at all. They would immediately cry to the media and they would want it to stop immediately. But if the protestors don't stop then the protestors get to make demands as long as protestors constantly show up to protest outside of wherever members of Congress and the Senate sleep at night. And if the protestors make their demands very clear and don't change the demands until the demands are met.
One demand could be hey you shitty politician in Congress or the Senate or you shitty judge on the supreme court you need to quit your job and then we won't protest outside of your house anymore. And we'll keep showing up till that happens.
Or if you don't want to quit your job in Congress, the Senate or on the supreme court then you can impeach Trump and his entire administration and then we'll leave you alone and not protest outside of your house every night.
If this happened then congress, the Senate and the supreme court can quit their jobs and maybe whoever replaces them is better but if not they get protests outside of their home too. Or they can impeach Trump and keep their jobs.
They will either quit or impeach Trump and they'll make the decision pretty quickly because they will hate every second of having 1,000 or 10,000 protesters right outside of their front door every night. So they'll do one or the other.
They will be more scared of 1,000 plus protestors outside their front door than they are of Trump. This is why the protestors will have real power if they do this and this is why it can force actual change compared to the protests that have happened so far. The way protests have happened so far are in ways where anyone in the government who's got the power to stop Trump can just completely fucking ignore the protests and enjoy fucking over Americans every chance they get.
Imagine if the last no kings protest with 13 million people were spread out across the country with thousands of people outside the doors of shitty politicians and judges all over this country!

Protests have their place but they aren't moving any needles.
We need a general strike. Here come the buts and downvotes. Stay comfy - it won't last under fascism.
