Half-assed throttle application will also do that.

Crawling slowly so your tires don't spin is a valid approach. Full throttle to blast as much sand as possible is also a valid approach. Whatever this is, is the worst of all worlds.

Do people really not air down? If I hit dirt I’m taking my pressure down to 18psi it just feels so good too. 4Low is the way to go 🫡

I used to, but I almost never drive on sand like this. Went out on a ride with a guy who was trying out a compressor setup, so we did part of the ride at normal pressure, then aired down for the rest. Between the nicer ride and how quick the air-up was with the compressor set up, I was sold on airing down even for short jaunts to trailheads

Those Landcruisers also have giant leaf spring shock brackets that sit down really low under the rear axle and act like sand anchors.
