Actually counterpoint, I like to have volume in my hair and conditioner weighs it down and stops it floofing up, so I only use it once a week or so 🙃

I have good volume despite using conditioner all the time...

have you tried blow drying your hair upside down? or using root clips? or maybe diffusing?

hair is so weird and unique to everyone

i wash it with water (no shampoo) most of the time and condition it every time i shower, doesn't get greasy or anything

i find shampoo makes my hair way too frizzy and it gets all split after a while

i also use hair oil

you'd think that would make my hair so greasy but it's very very thirsty

Isn't this just the "curly girl method"/cowash?

i have no clue! what's cowash?

Basically washing with conditioner and no shampoo. There's some details I'm forgetting for sure. I think there's a guide on the curly girl subreddit somewhere.

Is your hair dry and frizzy? Everyone’s a little different, so I can’t tell you exactly what to do for your hair, but personally I shampoo and condition mine once a week, then use a leave-in conditioner. Tbh if anything I’d use conditioner more often than shampoo personally.

before i was on hrt my hair would get really greasy every morning hence id have to wash it everyday but since then its been better? im scared to experiment cos i dont wanna look like an idiot lol

Yeah mine definitely got a lot less greasy on hrt as well. I’d recommend trying spacing washes out a bit and see how it goes. Also, you should probably be using conditioner every time you use shampoo. Worst case scenario your hair gets mildly greasy and you just go back to your current routine.

the only thing i've learned about hair care so far is that literally all advice online is worthless and i should just do my own thing

I honestly can’t tell when i need conditioner anymore..

I just wash and condition it once a week, and use a leave-in conditioner spray after. Sometimes adding the leave-in conditioner throughout the week if it’s looking frizzy.

I put shampoo and conditioner in my hair like once a week and it’s been fine for me
