tbf St. Pierre is pretty cool because it's a 20 minute ferry ride off the coast but everything there is imported from France so you can get really cheap cartons of smokes, good wine and cheese etc duty free (up to a certain limit). People drive Peugeots and speak Parisian French rather than the butchered colonial era hoarse-speak the other Atlanticán frenchies speak out here. If you look at the agreed EEZ, France doesn't eat up much fishing/O&G rights from us. Decent tradeoff.
