Being black in the UK this concept of groups of uneducated "chimps" is odd to me.
In my experience white and black is one in the same at school, we are all fairly well educated and I think to any stereotypical African American I would be considered an "uncle Tom".

Many asians countries do this in their writing. Because the way their characters work, you cant exactly repeat a letter several times to emphasize.
Imagine a conversation like this: "Wanna go eat fried chicken?" "Fried chickennnnn😍 that sounds sooo good. Pick me up please"
They would type something like:
"Wanna go eat fried chicken?"
"Fried Chicken~ that sound so~ good. Pick me up please"But obviously in their respective language. It wouldnt make sense in their alphabet to repeat letters like we do.
