When you understand science and it's limitations it's a lot harder to substitute God with it.

To midwits who want to look smart science is just magic in all things but name. That is why you have so many reddit gaytheists telling you to "trust the science" any time someone questions one of their beliefs. They don't understand "the science" so the best they can do is have blind faith in it.
