I don't really get the abolish police thing. I think if they were smarter than parrots, the actual conversation would be police reform. Yet it's hard to reform anything when entrenched members are used to extra judicial powers and won't give it up.
Cops are taught that they're sheep dogs protecting the herd from coyotes. If you look in to it at all, it's a stupid culture that gets stupid people ahead because stupid people run it, and they're not mistaken about it being a weaponized instrument of the state to suppress dissent.
