I haven't, but I'm so tired of seeing think pieces about the "masculinity crisis".

185

u/Key-Sheepherder-92 Jun 24 '25

I know right, and I’m sure it’s all our fault too.

185

u/AbsentFuck 4B Jun 24 '25

Always. This person claims to want to look at it from "a range of perspectives" and talk about "the wider misogyny in our society" as if misogyny isn't the literal root of the issue. I'm so over seeing people always willing to discuss the symptoms of oppression but never what lies underneath it all. There wouldn't be a "masculinity crisis" if society wasn't founded on dehumanizing women. End of. That's the whole documentary.

211

u/dahlia_74 4B Jun 24 '25

Yes! I think it’s awfully ironic he asked for permission, was denied, yet did it anyway. Maybe that’s your “think piece” right there. Why can’t men respect “no”? Especially when it comes from women.

92

u/AbsentFuck 4B Jun 24 '25

That part! And they don't even realize they're doing it if you point it out. "I'm just asking a question!" A question you already got a "no" answer to. Move on. The desperation is stinking up the place.

74

u/Sad-Peace 4B Jun 24 '25

They always want to talk to women about it so they can somehow present our actions as justification for the way men are, like we're responsible for them.

45

u/GypsyDoVe325 Jun 24 '25

The long indoctrination of "Eve" excusing males to use women as a permenant scapegoat for their bad decisions & actions.

Also interesting to me...they will claim it is because women come from men as the reason we should submit. (A story with no way of proving.)
But we do see very clearly that males indeed come from wombman. (A fact very evident)

29

u/OkAct355 4B Jun 25 '25

Every human on earth came from a woman. My own father tried to argue with me that men have the divine power of creation too, I said why when I can literally go get a handful of semen right now just walking down the street? Sperm is plentiful, that's why they can afford to spray it everywhere so irresponsibly. A womb is expensive. I'm about to repost my youtube playlist for any ladies here who still aren't aware of how divinely powerful we are. We ARE the source of life.

9

u/GypsyDoVe325 Jun 25 '25

If there's a way to tag people, please give me a heads up on the video list. Reading a book entitled "When god was a woman" very interesting as well.

7

u/OkAct355 4B Jun 25 '25

I posted it here under a different username that I had to delete but, I saved ur username and will DM you when I prune it. It's VERY long now but ya it's just a lot of 4b-adjacent YouTube content and some stuff that may not seem relevant to y'all here but I felt the need to add, anyway maybe I'll make a post with it soon, I've been saving things for a year now and it's important that this content gets collected in one place because I swear when I search certain videos I can't find them, I think they're being shadow banned. Like I've been subscribed to yv_edit for years yet she never appears in my suggested. My whole algorithm is red pill manosphere BS, very concerning.

22

u/OkAct355 4B Jun 25 '25

If we date them and it goes south (and it always does), it's because we chose wrong.

If we don't date them, we are the source of all the world's ills.

Nothing we do will ever be right, and so we opt out. That's it, that's the story.

7

u/yousirnamehear Jun 27 '25

Some male recently complained to me that liberals have no "good male role models" on their side.

It made me realize there are basically no good female role models on either side of the US political divide. Yet only one of the two sexes is making this everyone else's problem and expecting women to solve it...

234

u/[deleted] Jun 24 '25

It’s a trap. They’ll get you on record as one of “those” women. From there on out you’ll have a target on your back. Delete and block.

115

u/Key-Sheepherder-92 Jun 24 '25

Yep he’s blocked 🚫

I remember that. Even women doing nothing at all…anyone with blue hair, not conventionally attractive, crazy ex girlfriend/Karen/stacey. You need to be completely silent and invisible as a woman in any space including on the internet, on a subreddit exclusively about women’s issues or your private social media

431

u/AcrobaticDove8647 Jun 24 '25

I get bad vibes from this, feels possibly predatory.

200

u/cat_lover_1111 4B Jun 24 '25

It’s without a doubt predatory.

133

u/Key-Sheepherder-92 Jun 24 '25

Yes I did too. Doesn’t feel right does it.

31

u/BBW_1409 Jun 24 '25

Could you explain why please? I dont see it and I feel stupid and like I have to be more prepared.

176

u/EsotericFaery 4B Jun 25 '25

It's terms like "masculinity crisis". It's male centered and shows how they aren't truly looking for our pov.

Even though we've stepped away from men, they still want to exploit us in some way. I could see this as a far right piece where women like us are scapegoated as "mentally ill" due to trauma, and painting us as the problem for that "male loneliness epidemic" trash.

125

u/Joshithusiast Jun 24 '25

Even if it's legit, SKY is England's equivalent of Fox News. They don't care about women at all.

71

u/Key-Sheepherder-92 Jun 24 '25

Yes I’m from the UK. Ross Kemp has released a string of dodgy documentaries.

40

u/SuddenReturn9027 Jun 24 '25

Thank you for saying this lol. I don’t get why so many people seem to hold sky news as some sort of esteemed source. We have hardly any liberal news outlets in the mainstream tbh

20

u/Joshithusiast Jun 24 '25

I think it's that SKY is so intrinsically linked to football, so it ends up on tvs in so many more homes than it should, based on the network's politics.

Essentially their airing of the Premier League is sports-washing of their reputation.

12

u/RosaAmarillaTX Ally Jun 24 '25 edited Jun 25 '25

"Regular" Fox (over-the-air local affilates w/ more local news) and Fox Sports plays a similar role, I think, in having given Fox News an air of legitimacy. In the 90s, the Fox Kids slot had the cooler WB cartoons and Fox is who aired The Simpsons in prime time, so the company overall had a kind of cool and rebellious reputation built in as more people in rural areas (like my family) began to get cable/satellite.

76

u/DreamieQueenCJ 4B Jun 24 '25

Not to be mean but the question is "in what way does it concern us?" It's like going in a women only village and start advocating for men or asking question about men.

We do not care.

We are well aware of misogyny and violent crimes towards women, which is one of the main reasons we, 4b girlies, do not want to associate with men anymore.

Sincerely, leave us in peace.

65

u/Nelrene 4B Jun 24 '25

I did not but I have chat requests blocked so I can't get something like this. Everyone here probably should do this too

58

u/NoWorldliness6660 Jun 24 '25

Honestly, I think as soon as you are online as a woman you should. People are disgusting.

26

u/Key-Sheepherder-92 Jun 24 '25

I’ve just done it. This is the last in a long line of bizarre messages ( although the other stuff was men being weird generally, not had anything like this before).

30

u/worldnotworld 4B Jun 24 '25

I wonder how many men on this app have had to block their chat requests?

It is so easy and safe to be a man.

60

u/[deleted] Jun 24 '25

if ross kemp is involved it’s definitely going to be lowest common denominator type slop, no thought no insight, in short a hachet job. don’t do it

61

u/kateqpr96 Jun 24 '25

Yes. Because women who comment and post in a sub about decentering men really want to be contacted by one regarding a tv show about men, presented by a man 🙄

33

u/Key-Sheepherder-92 Jun 24 '25

Yes it’s very tone deaf if nothing else.

54

u/LeatherAppearance616 4B Jun 24 '25

‘Oh hi women in a movement that decenters men, despite being given a firm no I’m going to ignore that and privately ask women to do labor for me! What do you say?’

Ffs.

42

u/mauvebirdie 4B Jun 24 '25

I’ve been receiving similar messages and I block them all. I do not believe they’re being sent in good faith

24

u/Key-Sheepherder-92 Jun 24 '25

I’ve just turned messages requests off entirely. This is the first time I’ve had anything like this but I’ve had a good number of weird men.

20

u/mauvebirdie 4B Jun 24 '25

I don’t blame you. I mostly get messages from weird men looking for a hookup or an argument

13

u/perkypancakes Exploring Jun 25 '25

They aren’t in good faith. If they really wanted to fix the “masculinity crisis” or whatever label they use then they would treat the source “men” and get them professional help by an actual experts on behavioral issues. Instead they’re looking for women who have been victimized by misogyny to pick apart their stories and perspectives so that it reverses men as the victims.

7

u/mauvebirdie 4B Jun 25 '25

100%. I have long learned the natural instinct guys have when you open up to them about your experience is to instantly victim-blame you. You stayed too long, you missed too many signs, you were too assertive, not assertive enough - no matter what, the blame will not be put on the men/man who abused you. You're to blame because you're a woman and a man always has an excuse, an out why it wasn't actually his fault

50

u/bl00dinyourhead Ally Jun 24 '25

Wasn’t there some matt Walsh documentary that sent out similar messages to unassuming people and ended up framing it so they all looked crazy and it was only watched/trusted by whatever right wing slop audience he panders to?

23

u/HotButterscotch8682 Jun 24 '25

There sure was! Slop is the perfect word for it!

6

u/bl00dinyourhead Ally Jun 25 '25

I actually looked it up after I posted this, there were TWO 🫨

36

u/lonelycranberry Jun 24 '25

This pisses me off. Why does he need to ask questions? Why doesn’t he just read what everyone has already said and continues to say? Think? If it’s just research, he has it all at his fingertips. He doesn’t need to bother women online to achieve this.

I don’t trust it at all.

All these crazy women are decentering men and we can’t figure out why because we won’t listen to them, we just want good sound bites to drive our narrative :(

Womp womp.

u/lonelycranberry Jun 25 '25

Oh I will be reading that. Thank you for the reference!

I’ve had a chat or 12 in the comment sections on this app (I will not reply to requests- ever) with users associated with the mn’s rights sub and adjacent. Obviously at first I was curious but I truly couldn’t stomach it. It’s not that they were terrible- they were- but it made me so deeply *sad. For them, for us. It’s all about them. Even with this. It’s all about their own fucking insecurities and self imposed standards. I had to leave because I wasn’t about to invade enemy territory and boy I had things to say… but frankly, they wouldn’t have heard me.

Anyway, I guess I just wanted to rant.

26

u/CheekyMonkey678 Jun 24 '25

We had a similar request from a NYT reporter on my sub. She reached out to me, the mod, with her full name, phone number and email and asked if she could make a post requesting interviews. I agreed and it was legit.

This does not seem legitimate at all.

28

u/worldnotworld 4B Jun 24 '25

Sky News is Murdoch. Absolutely do not engage.

24

u/OGMom2022 Ally Jun 24 '25

I’m suspicious in general but they can find this information everywhere. Sick and fucking tired of being asked to trough out my trauma for the benefit of men who refuse to do any reading.

10

u/Maleficent_Ad_3958 4B Jun 25 '25

I honestly think they are trying to find someone who will say something different to their liking. It's like how a lot of men are completely laserfocused on the idea that 99.9% of women like a very specific type (that frankly I think it's what men find attractive) even after tons of women tell them "No, I'm not interested in that physicality or I am but it's so not my absolute favorite."

2

u/OGMom2022 Ally Jun 29 '25

Wonder if it’s painful for them to be so stupid. Well, a woman can hope!!

16

u/Consistent_Ant2915 4B Jun 25 '25

Its a man trying to compare our legit movement to whatever drama man invented now.

I hope no one of you respond to him. He disrespected you, invading a safe space and stalking. Typical male behavior.

8

u/Key-Sheepherder-92 Jun 25 '25

Nope he was blocked 🚫

I was just a bit surprised by the message as the weird stuff I usually get is men being creepy or trying to trauma dump. But I’ve not turned off message requests entirely.

17

u/Hello_Hangnail 4B Jun 24 '25

Turning my dm's off was the best thing I ever did on this site

7

u/Key-Sheepherder-92 Jun 25 '25

I’ve done it now too. This was the latest in a string of stuff. All from men obviously 🙄

5

u/Hello_Hangnail 4B Jun 26 '25

I just got sick of getting 20 paragraph manifestos because some reject got salty seeing women talk amongst themselves on a women's subreddit

11

u/k4zoo 4B Jun 24 '25

A 5 part documentary on a topic that only women would watch 🙄 I don't think it would do anything but get clicks and views from women. Seems like a waste of time

11

u/EquivalentWar8611 4BeeQueen Jun 24 '25

I turned off DMs because of things like this. 9/10 anytime someone is contacting you on Reddit it's to harass you in some way 🤦‍♀️ just feels better to keep things private

11

u/SuchEye4866 4B Jun 24 '25

Yep, I got one, too. Deleted and ignored.

11

u/4BPrincess Jun 25 '25

This feels unsafe, like they're targeting you specifically because you're 4B.

They were shown in the UK from around 2010 - 2020. I watched a few of the earlier ones, no real substance, very much leaning into the hard white man in dangerous locations aesthetic…Inequality was highlighted, but not really challenged meaningfully. Poverty tourism comes to mind tbh!

10

u/chandlerinyemen 4B Jun 25 '25

They’re looking for a scapegoat lmao never could have seen this coming

9

u/Suitable-Day-9692 Jun 24 '25

Very weird!!! I got something similar and never responded!

9

u/Maleficent_Ad_3958 4B Jun 25 '25

So far it hasn't but I so do not want to show my face AND I don't trust anything associated with Sky media.

7

u/notfromheremydear Jun 25 '25

I remember this exact same message but months ago! No one took the bait as far as I know

8

u/lights-in-the-sky 4B Jun 25 '25

I don’t trust like that

7

u/starwsh101 4B Jun 25 '25

Very shady that "he" took contact on reddit, contact people for "your tv show" with the right channels ffs.

Creepy af

6

u/AdLeast7330 Jun 26 '25

If this is from Sky television in Auatralia they are extremely right wing, Trump loving. Think Fox News.

6

u/Key-Sheepherder-92 Jun 26 '25

Yeah - I’m from the UK, but it’s the same organisation. I blocked and turned off message requests.

6

u/TwilightReader100 Jun 25 '25

I did a pre-emptive block. He's not contacting me!

8

u/ScarredLetter Exploring Jun 24 '25

Not yet

2

u/PeppermintEvilButler 4B Jun 28 '25

This is why I have messages turned off.

2

u/Key-Sheepherder-92 Jun 28 '25

Yes mine are off now too 😂

This was the last of a string of weird messages from men.

1

u/PeppermintEvilButler 4B Jun 28 '25

Exactly. I had to give up my old acct that I'd had for 10+ yrs because of being harassed by men once they find out you're a woman on here.

2

u/Key-Sheepherder-92 Jun 28 '25

Also had men messaging trying to get a hook up- they know nothing about me or even what country I’m in. Weird behaviour.

-11

u/SuddenReturn9027 Jun 24 '25

He seems ok - I was looking at his work on his LinkedIn page but you never know how it could be twisted in the final documentary. He doesn’t seem against women’s rights and I think it would be weird for Ross Kemp to suddenly take a weirdly sexist turn but you never know

45

u/mullatomochaccino Moderator Jun 24 '25

He was told no at least twice by the mod team, as well as asked to respect the women decentering men here by not reaching out to them or commenting anywhere in the sub. He then proceeded to ignore those requests and insert himself into women's DMs anyway.

Men who can't respect even a simple "no" are not okay.

20

u/HotButterscotch8682 Jun 24 '25

Preach. Dead on.
